An angry conservative from Alabama was charged with felony first-degree criminal mischief after Tuscaloosa police officers saw him tear an eight-foot long gash in the infamous “Baby Trump” inflatable balloon that was on display in a park.

According to Tuscaloosa News, Hoyt Hutchinson, got past about a dozen anti-Trump protesters that were around the balloon in Monnish Park and used his knife to rend mortal damage to the liberal vinyl icon. The balloon had been shipped in at the rental cost of $4500 donated by liberals who can’t think of anything productive to do with their money. The intent was to fly it during the big Alabama-LSU football game that was attended by the Trumps.

Monnish Park is about a mile from Bryant-Denny Stadium.

The 20-foot tall inflatable depicts President Trump as a crying baby in a diaper and holding a mobile phone. The balloon has been seen flying around the world at various protests and the news media love to focus in on the image in their reporting.

On his way to the park, Hutchinson filmed a brief video explaining himself before the deed was done. Watch:

In the Facebook Live video, he invited others with “any balls” to come and join him.

“I’m going down here to make a scene, so y’all watch the news,” he said.

“This is pathetic. I’m fixing to get rowdy,” he added with a smile.

“I’m shaking, I’m so mad right now,” Hutchinson continued. “I’m fixing to pop this balloon, without a doubt. Stay tuned, this should be interesting.”

The Guardian reported

Robert Kennedy, a volunteer “baby sitter” who brought the balloon to Tuscaloosa, said the balloon immediately began to sag after it was cut.

The day had been going mostly smoothly, Kennedy said. Some people yelled “Trump 2020” as they passed while others posed for selfies with the balloon. But then Kennedy said a man sidled up on the back of the balloon and attacked it with a knife. He ran away but was caught by police officers, Kennedy said.

Kennedy said he’s accompanied Baby Trump to many appearances and never witnessed an attack on the balloon, although someone did stab a Baby Trump balloon in London earlier this year.

“It is rare to get that kind of anger,” Kennedy said.

Hutchinson was immediately bonded out of jail after his arrest, and was watching the big game by the third quarter, according to the Tuscaloosa News. In another Facebook video now deleted, he said, “I did get arrested, I got charged. That’s all right, I’d do it again. I’m glad all y’all enjoyed that, better than this game right here,” referring to the game in which Alabama was defeated by rival LSU.

He asked for donations to his GoFundMe accounts to assist with his legal fees, saying anything received in excess of what is needed would be donated to the Republican Party. The News reported: “A suspect can be charged with first-degree criminal mischief if the property damaged totals more than $2,500. Conviction on the Class C felony charge carries a year to 10 years in prison.”
