With President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump set to attend the LSU-Alabama colleges football game on Saturday, CNN showed up in pursuit of negative remarks about the president from those attending the big game.

The game was in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and CNN was interviewing fans making their way to Bryant-Denny Stadium for a match-up of the number one ranked LSU Tigers and number two ranked Alabama Crimson Tide.

Suffice it to say, CNN didn’t exactly get the answer they were expecting when they asked an Alabama fan if he believed the president was being treated fairly.

“No. No, I don’t,” the Alabama fan said. “I don’t because when the man tries to help the country and you instead try to find a situation to throw out his character … ain’t no perfect president because everybody [has] their cause, but I think he’s been treated unfairly.”

Turning to a woman, CNN gave it another go, only to once again be disappointed.

“I think it’s ridiculous. I think it’s unfair,” she said of the Democrat’s impeachment inquisition. “I wish they would focus on getting stuff done instead of harassing the president.”

Boom! The real news is that CNN aired these interviews.

The reaction inside the stadium was even worse for those in the media eager to report that public sentiment is shifting away from Trump.

When their images were displayed on the Jumbotron, the packed stadium greeted the president and first lady with a thunderous standing ovation.

As for the game itself, the Crimson Tide fell behind early and fought hard to make a game of it, putting together a furious comeback effort that fell short in the end, with the Tigers winning 46-41.

Employing rules passed by Democrats alone, Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., will take his partisan impeachment inquiry public this week and the chairman of the House Intel Committee is dictating who the GOP can and cannot call to testify.

Standing next to a poster of  a communist hammer-and-sickle and the Kremlin, along with text that read “37 days of Soviet-style impeachment proceedings,” House Minority Whip Steve Scalise recently described the impeachment inquiry as a “sham process, a tainted process.”

“This is Soviet-style rules,” he added from the House floor. “Maybe in the Soviet Union you do something like this.”

The Trump 2020 campaign wasted no time capitalizing on the CNN footage, sharing it online. Here’s a sampling of some of the responses to the clip from Twitter:
