Don Jr. ‘View’ appearance takes surprising turn when hosts scold cheering audience: ‘This is not a MAGA rally!’

Donald Trump Jr. and his girlfriend, former Fox News personality Kimberly Guilfoyle, appeared on “The View” this Thursday, and right from the get-go there were fireworks.

Literally within seconds of the segment beginning, co-host Whoopi Goldberg threw the first punch by refusing to say Trump Jr.’s full name, reportedly at the beckoning of fellow co-host (and anti-Trump zealot) Joy Behar.

“Over the past 5,000 shows, this table has welcomed thousands of guests with incredibly diverse points of view. After all, that’s what the show’s called,” she said.

It’s also called a joke, but that’s another story for another day.

“And we always have one goal in mind — to engage in passionate, hopefully productive conversation,” Goldberg continued. “And with all that said, please welcome the son of the gentleman in the white house, DJT, and Kimberley Guilfoyle.”

As she spoke, Behar could be heard in the background whispering, “Don’t say his name.”

The response on social media to this conspicuous jab has been fierce.

Look:

You get the picture.

FYI, Guilfoyle opined on the matter as well in a post-appearance tweet:

Granted, Goldberg has been abstaining from saying the president’s name — which his eldest son shares — for years now because of her Trump Derangement Syndrome.

She explained why in an interview with CNN last year.

Dovetailing back to the present, something unexpected occurred during Trump Jr.’s appearance on “The View.” The audience showed him some love.

Take for instance what happened when he posited a defense for his decision earlier this week to publicly reveal the name of the partisan whistleblower.

“I don’t regret doing it,” he said. “I don’t think I should have to forego my First Amendment rights. It’s out there. I read it in an article, I’ve been reading it for a week, I saw it on the Drudge Report.”

As he spoke, the crowd burst into applause, a move so unexpected that it provoked Behar into yelling, “Listen, this is not a MAGA rally, OK!?

Watch:

“Like, this is not some secret,” Jr. continued as the applause died down. “But to then say, because it’s Donald Trump Jr., because he’s an outspoken guy, to then create … why was there no outrage when Drudge Report … he puts it out there a few days ago, and nothing, crickets, no problem with that.”

Behar also squabbled with Jr. when he brought up her alleged history with blackface

The fact that Behar felt as if the studio had turned into a veritable MAGA rally seems to speak volumes. Unless the audience was purposefully stacked with Trump supporters beforehand, what happened seems to suggest that even some viewers of the otherwise far-left ABC talk show back the president, or at least in regard to the ongoing impeachment battle.

Speaking of which, observe how some in the audience reacted when …

Guilfoyle rightly noted that women are performing better under President Donald Trump’s policies:

Trump Jr. said he wishes Democrats would let his father “do his job”:

Trump Jr. pointed out that his father donates all of his salary:

And Trump Jr. called out the show’s co-hosts for their hypocrisy vis-a-vis former Vice President Joe Biden’s alleged corruption in Ukraine:

If this was the response he received from the audience of “The View,” only God knows the type of response he’d received were he to ever run for office.

As it stands, his newly released book — “Triggered: How the Left Thrives on Hate and Wants to Silence Us” — is reportedly already a best seller.
