In the latest edition of Fox Nation’s “My Take,” Stuart Varney remarked on the media “panic” over Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s “Medicare for All” plan.
The hard left Democratic senator from Massachusetts is pushing a plan that not only eliminates private insurance, but will require trillions of dollars in tax hikes, and now that Warren has inched ahead of former Vice President Joe Biden in the polls there is concern this could be a deciding factor in a head-to-head match up against President Trump.
And liberals are beginning to push back, hoping to move Warren toward a reasonable alternative that will pass muster with the American voter.
“I was shocked, shocked this morning when I scanned the headlines in the liberal media,” Varney said on Tuesday. “They’ve woken up to the economic lunacy of Elizabeth Warren’s ‘Medicare-for-all.'”

“She is the darling of the left,” he added. “But on this one, she is taking a shellacking.”
He cites editorials from the New York Times and the Washington Post taking Warren to task over her healthcare plan.
The N.Y. Times op-ed was penned by Steven Rattner, a life-long Democrat who served as counselor to the Treasury secretary in the Obama administration. He called Warren’s plan “a daunting mountain of new taxes and fees.”
Rattner wrote, “Thanks for providing us, Ms. Warren, with yet more evidence that a Warren presidency is a terrifying prospect, one brought closer by your surge in the polls.”
The Washington Post editorials used the word “fanciful” to describe Warren’s plan to “remake the U.S. health-care system,” adding that when it comes to the cost, the plan is “festooned with magic asterisks.”
“I wasn’t expecting this,” Varney said. “It amounts to panic. Panic that the new front-runner for the Democrats has made a major gaffe that cannot be taken back.”
He goes on to say with a laugh that “it gets worse” for Democrats.
“The New York Times conducted an extensive poll of battleground states, those states that will have a big say in deciding next year’s winner — Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Florida, Arizona and North Carolina — and the Times concluded, ‘The president’s advantage in the Electoral College remains intact or has even grown,'” he noted.
All of which may go a long way toward explaining the Democratic Party’s headlong dive into a partisan impeachment inquisition to take out the president, according to Varney.
“No wonder the Democrats are now pushing impeachment,” he said. “There’s only a year to go to the election and they are losing on policy, losing on prosperity and their socialist front-runners are being attacked by their own side.”
“Impeach him. Slime him. Give away free stuff,” Varney concluded. “That’s what they are running on.”
Then again, that’s standard operating procedure for the Democratic Party, no?
