‘Watters’ World’ guest blurts out ‘Epstein didn’t kill himself’ after PSA about military dogs

In what made for a bizarre, albeit funny moment, a Fox News guest discussing the valor of military dogs suddenly and without warning blurted out that Jeffrey Epstein “didn’t kill himself.”

Mike Ritland, a former Navy SEAL and founder of the Warrior Dog Foundation, was a Saturday night guest on “Watters’ World,” in light of last week’s focus on the military dog injured during a daring nighttime raid against ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.

As Watters was closing out the segment, Ritland requested and was granted time to offer a PSA about military dogs.

“The remarkable nature of these dogs and them being highlighted in news creates a huge demand by people that frankly shouldn’t have them. If you see the coverage and you decide I want one of these dogs either buy a fully trained and finished dog from a professional or don’t get one at all,” Ritland said.

“Epstein didn’t kill himself,” he then added, without missing a beat.

“Alright,” Watters said, as he processed the parting remark.

“OK, thank you for that commentary,” the Fox News host added, with a hearty laugh.

Warrior Dog Foundation is a nonprofit that seeks to provide a home for military dogs that are no longer in service and slated to be euthanized, according to their website.

It’s hard to say what motivated Ritland to throw the comment in, but the look on his face suggested that he may have been responding to a dare or a bet.

Early on Aug. 10, financier Jeffrey Epstein’s body was found inside his Metropolitan Correctional Center jail cell in lower Manhattan. Dr. Barbara Sampson, chief medical examiner for New York City, stands by her initial determination that Epstein had died from suicide by hanging, according to Fox News.

Forensic pathologist Dr. Michael Baden said in an appearance last week on “Fox & Friends” the disgraced sex offender’s injuries were more consistent with murder than suicide.

“Those three fractures are extremely unusual in suicidal hangings and could occur much more commonly in homicidal strangulation,” Baden said. “I’ve not seen in 50 years where that occurred in a suicidal hanging case.”

While there may be uncertainty in the eyes of some when it comes to the death of Epstein, there was no uncertainty in the entertainment value of Ritland’s antics.
