Whoops, they did it again …
Fox News has again trotted out a poll that looks bad for President Donald Trump. But just like last time, the poll’s dubious results are based on a gross oversampling of Democrats.
Published on Sunday, the poll purports that 2020 contender and former Vice President Joe Biden commands a notable lead over the president.
“Biden performs best against Trump (51-39 percent). He leads by 12 points, garners over 50 percent and keeps Trump below 40 percent. In early October, Biden led by 10 (50-40 percent),” Fox reported.
According to the poll results, every other major candidate except for South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg is likewise leading against the president:

And get this: According to the results, failed 2016 Democrat presidential nominee Hillary Clinton now suddenly boasts a two-point advantage, 43 percent to 41 percent, over the president in a hypothetical 2016 rematch …
But is any of this believable? The evidence suggests not.
Last month, the network ran a poll that showed that a 51 percent majority of Americans supported impeachment, while a 40 percent minority opposed it. However, an analysis by the New York Post found that the results were skewed because of oversampling.
“Princeton, New Jersey, pollster Braun Research, which conducted the survey, noted 48% of its respondents were Democrats. But the actual breakdown of party affiliation is 31% Democrat, 29% Republican and 38% independent, according to Gallup,” the Post reported.
“A poll weighted for party affiliation would have concluded that 44.9% favored impeachment and 44.4% opposed it,” the report concluded.
Now fast-forward to the present. It turns out that the network’s latest poll was conducted by the same pollster, Braun Research, and again the pollster relied on an oversampling of Democrats.
Look:

Moreover, the oversampling was even worse this time, with even more Democrats (49 vs. 48 percent) and fewer Independents (11 vs. 12 percent) being sampled.
This suggests that the results of the whole poll are skewed, including the results listed below:
- 36 percent of voters approve of Trump’s handling of Syria, 55 percent disapprove
- 14 percent of voters believe the economy is “excellent,” 33 percent think it’s “good” and 36 percent think it’s “only fair”
- 42 percent of voters are satisfied with “the way things are going in the country today,” 58 percent are not
- 42 percent of voters approve of “the job” Trump is doing, 57 percent disapprove
- 52 percent of voters believe the Democrats’ impeachment efforts are legitimate, 39 percent disapprove
- 42 percent of voters believe Trump should be removed from office if evidence is found for impeachment, 43 believe the voters should decide in 2020
The latter result is particularly jarring, as it already shows a bias against impeachment, despite the poll’s results being skewed to the left.
Speaking of skewed results, many of the network’s once-loyal viewers are wondering why it keeps oversampling Democrats over and over and over again.
Some are also wondering why they should ever trust Fox News again.
Look:
Why are you over sampling Dems by 15% undersampling republican and independants? @potus fox becoming #fakenews?????? Fox News Poll: Biden leads nomination race, tops Trump by 12 points in matchuphttps://t.co/MGmpZXKh20

Yeah, alright. Fox has already been caught doctoring their polls. The only polls that count will be the one from the polling booths, and Trump will have a decisive win next time.

The only results that are believable are from those procured from questions directed only to Democrat primary voters. These results show that Biden leads the primary pack with 31 percent of votes, while Warren, Sanders and Buttigieg trail behind him with 21, 19 and 7 percent, respectively. These results actually make sense. Plus, they fit with RealClearPolitics’ polling averages.
As for the results pertaining to Trump, they seem like nothing more than fake news …
The biggest fake news poll since Hillary’s 98% chance of winning 2016 in a landslide. @FoxNews is fake news ?
