It has been said that a picture is worth a thousand words, and a photo of Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., standing next to Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., in a Detroit food pantry certainly fits that billing.
Sanders, a self-avowed socialist, was in town to receive Tlaib’s coveted endorsement, and the pair visited the Brightmoor Food Pantry, according to Detroit Free Press.
Thank you (Shukran!) Amo @berniesanders for coming to our community to see firsthand and hear from the very people hurt by #corporategreed.
I am proud to endorse you for President of the United States. #13thDistrictStrong #rootedincommunity pic.twitter.com/xXvYJC7qhM

The intended message, according to the newspaper, was to note that the pantry is out of bottled water because so many Detroiters are getting their water shut off for non-payment of their bills.
“Here in this campaign, we hear the word socialism a lot,” Sanders said. “Well, what this is a perfect example of is socialism for billionaires, massive amounts of subsidies and tax breaks. But for children, there’s not enough money for a decent education and for poor people, there’s not an ability to get clean drinking water.”
No Bernie, the problem isn’t getting clean drinking water. It’s paying for that water.
Tlaib, one of the first two Muslim women elected to Congress in 2018 — the hard left Democrat called President Trump a “motherf***er” her first week in office — can be seen below talking about “our movement.”
.@BernieSanders and @RashidaTlaib just finished touring Brightmoor Connection food pantry in Detroit. The pair have a rally in Detroit tonight as well. I asked Congresswoman Tlaib if she will be formally endorsing Senator Sanders tonight: pic.twitter.com/28BbNpivab

The congresswoman has a history of anti-Semitic behavior and she became the third member of the “squad” of four radical freshman Democrats to back Sanders, as Reps. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez, D-N.Y., and Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., have already done so.
Phil Kerpen, a free-market policy analyst and political organizer, took to Twitter to share a photo of Sanders and Tlaib standing in front of empty shelves, stressing that this may not be an ideal way for two socialists to promote themselves.
“This was in a food bank, but putting socialists in front of what look like empty grocery shelves is not the best advance work,” Kerpen tweeted.

Granted, Tlaib has not come out and directly owned her socialism, but if it walks like a comrade and quacks like a comrade … well, you’ve got a socialist.
On a related note, it appears that rocker Jack White is down with collectivism, as he banged out a few tunes at a Sanders rally later in the day.
He did a cover of Bob Dylan’s “License to Kill,” switching the words up to ask, “Who’s going to take away Trump’s license to kill,” the Free Press reported.
“Bernie is telling the truth,” White said during a break. “You can trust him.”
You can also trust social media to deliver on the hilarity when it comes to photos of the left-wing lawmakers posing in front of empty shelves.
