Bruce Springsteen: President Trump doesn’t grasp ‘what it means to be an American’

Singer Bruce Springsteen’s latest anti-Trump rant has the president’s supporters convinced that “The Boss” really needs to shut up and show some respect to America’s real boss.

In yet another raging screed this week against President Donald Trump, the 70-year-old singer accused the president of not knowing “what it means to be an American.”

“It’s just frightening, you know?” he said while speaking about Trump’s presidency with “CBS This Morning” host Gayle King. “We’re living in a frightening time.”

“The stewardship of the nation has been thrown away to somebody who doesn’t have a clue as to what that means. And unfortunately, we have somebody who I feel doesn’t have a grasp of the deep meaning of what it means to be an American.”

The millions of Americans who’ve seen their wages rise, seen job opportunities explode, seen unemployment drop to their lowest levels in decades and seen bad trade deals be renegotiated had no clue “what the hell” he was talking about.

“Hey @springsteen Hillary Clinton lost. Our @POTUS GRASPS America: 1000s jobs repatriated from globalists, 500,000 new jobs, historical unemployment for minorities, low taxes, higher wages, #FirstStepAct prison reform & more,” one angry critic tweeted him.

Plenty of others joined her.

Look (*Language warning):

Springsteen does indeed have a track record of acting like an “#ElitistSnob,” as noted by Twitter critics — which of course might explain his adoration for one of America’s most notorious elitist snobs, failed Democrat presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.

“The fact is that Bruce Springsteen has been posturing as the poet laureate of New Jersey’s working classes for the last thirty years with little knowledge of work, less understanding of class, and, most shockingly, no feel at all for the people of New Jersey,” author and journalist Jack Cashill opined in an op-ed way back in 2007.

He also has a history of being quite inconsistent. Take his stance on war. Despite being against wars and in fact protesting against former President George W. Bush’s war efforts in Iraq (Trump also protested those efforts), he changed his tune the moment Barack Hussein Obama stepped into office in 2009.

Then all of a sudden, his protests quieted down as Obama proceeded in 2013 to seek approval for pursuing military action in Syria. Then six years later, when Trump reversed the Obama administration’s initiative by finally ordering the withdrawal of U.S. troops from the beleaguered nation, again he remained dead quiet.

What do you suppose would have happened had these events occurred in reverse, with Obama, a Democrat, pulling troops from Syria, and Trump, a Republican, returning troops to the region? Would Springsteen have still remained quiet?

The singer’s latest attack on Trump comes two months after he dropped a joint track dedicated to his and longtime collaborator Joe Grushecky’s obsession with the president:

Speaking at a rally recently of the hatred constantly lobbed his way by the likes of Springsteen, among other disreputable figures, Trump said that he didn’t need the support of such people to win the 2016 presidential election.

He was right. All he needed was the support of the working class Americans whom liberal Democrat elitists like Springsteen and his beloved Clinton have repeatedly demeaned and insulted.
