The Trump campaign is capitalizing on acting White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney’s press conference this week where he seemed to suggest at one point that there was quid pro quo on the president’s phone call with the Ukrainian president.
The campaign is spinning the press conference into good news and they have introduced a t-shirt that sports the phrase “Get Over It” with a Trump-like hairdo over the “O.”

“America is ready for Congress to get back to work. No more WITCH HUNTS!” the description for the shirt reads on the campaign website. “President Trump won in 2016 and he is going to win even bigger in 2020.” The merchandise is selling for $30.
Asked about quid pro quo between Trump and the Ukrainian president — the accusation is Trump threatened to withhold military funds if Ukraine did not help in investigating Joe Biden, something the transcript of the phone call disproves — Mulvaney said, “We do that all the time. Get over it. Politics is going to be involved in foreign policy. Elections do have consequences.”
Mulvaney later walked back his comments and made clear that “the president never told me to withhold any money until the Ukrainians did anything related to the server.”
The head-scratching press conference even had Fox News host Sean Hannity heated. He called Mulvaney “dumb” in reaction to it.
“What is Mulvaney even talking about? I just think he’s dumb, I really do. I don’t even think he knows what he’s talking about. That’s my take on it,” Hannity said on Premiere Radio Networks’ “The Sean Hannity Show.”
CNN host Jake Tapper took to Twitter to imply the t-shirt is somehow an admission of guilt.
“Denied quid pro quo with Ukraine. Then admitted it. Then denied it. And they’re now selling shirts,” Tapper tweeted.
Denied quid pro quo with Ukraine.
Then admitted it.
Then denied it.
And they’re now selling shirts.

If the point of the new campaign t-shirt was to rile up leftists then it succeeded. Many have reacted with red hot anger on social media.
Wait – is this real? I want to research it, but don’t want to give them the Tweets.

Thanks! I’ll buy one. Of course, then I’ll be at genuine risk of being assaulted by people belonging to the party YOU support, Jake. Have a nice day.
