Tulsi Gabbard scoffs at CNN, NYT purporting to be ‘neutral arbiters,’ calls it ‘absurd’

Tulsi Gabbard is not happy with CNN or The New York Times.

The two left-leaning outlets sponsored Tuesday night’s Democratic presidential debate and despite Gabbard being an outspoken liberal congresswoman from Hawaii, the bias against her was clear. Many called out the debate for cutting her short at one point, and Gabbard is now raging against the two outlets for running “hit pieces” against her in the days leading up to the debate.

Appearing on Fox News’ “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” Gabbard was asked if the hostility toward her within the systematic left surprises her.

“It doesn’t,” she said. “I think it’s kind of absurd actually.”

“As we saw in the days leading up to the debate last night, both CNN and the New York Times both ran hit pieces. For them to just sit there and try to portray themselves as neutral arbiters and independent entities working with the DNC to carry out a legitimate debate is frankly a joke,” she continued.

Ouch.

One of the biggest differences between Gabbard, a military veteran, and the “liberals” she is running against is that she does not support the United States having a continued presence in the Middle East.

On Carlson’s show, Gabbard argued that the United States needs to stop being the “world’s police” — a position similar to President Donald Trump’s foreign policy feelings — and she said the left has turned on her because she supports ending the “regime-change wars” in places like Syria — again, something Trump is in the process of doing.

“This is exactly what happens to those like myself who are trying to end this regime-change war in Syria, who are calling for an end of our country’s policy of being the world’s police,” the congresswoman said. “What they’re really doing is smearing anyone who is calling for an end to these regime-change wars — including veterans.”

Gabbard also called out CNN and The New York Times during Tuesday night’s debate, a night she almost boycotted.

“Just two days ago, The New York Times put out an article saying that I’m a Russian asset and an Assad apologist and all these different smears. This morning, a CNN commentator said on national television that I’m an asset of Russia — completely despicable,” she said on Tuesday night.

Some pointed out on social media that Gabbard was at one point completely cut off by CNN in what seemed to be an attempt to help out Elizabeth Warren.
