College president says safe spaces ‘promote intellectual diversity,’ Bongino goes off

In light of the president of Wesleyan University arguing recently for safe spaces, Dan Bongino dropped a truth bomb on the liberal administrator.

“The world’s a tough place. Deal with it.”

Wesleyan University President Michael S. Roth penned a New York Times op-ed late last month on safe spaces, which he said were “in the broadest terms, the attempt to make sure all students are made to feel welcome in or outside the classroom.”

“We must promote intellectual diversity in a context in which people can feel safe enough to challenge one another,” Roth said. “Students should be able to participate in argument and inquiry without the threat of harassment or intimidation.”

He would go on to opine that the “outright dismissal of safe spaces can amount to a harmful disregard for the well-being of students.”

A concept that doesn’t seem to apply to students on the right who refuse to adhere to progressive dogma:

Bongino, a former Secret Service agent, sees the entire concept as little more than a crutch and he didn’t mince words in letting it be known.

“‘Safe spaces’ are absolutely pathetic,” he tweeted Sunday. “And, if you’re one of the sad, sorry human beings delicate enough to need one, then you’re pretty pathetic too. Grow up. The world’s a tough place. Deal with it. Thanks, that’s all.”

But then, Bongino grew up in a different era in America — which is not to say these values are lost on society today.

The general consensus online was how do these liberal ninnies, many of whom are afraid of red hats, expect to survive in today’s competitive job market.
