FBI veteran’s tell-all reveals ‘era of abuse’ and destruction of bureau under Mueller and Comey

According to Mike German, a well-respected 16-year FBI veteran who left the agency as a whistleblower in 2004, between 2001 and 2017 then-FBI Directors Robert Mueller (2001-2013) and James Comey (2013-2017) turned the once-highly-respected agency into a “lawless law enforcer.”

These and more revelations are reportedly revealed in German’s latest book, “Disrupt, Discredit, and Divide: How the New FBI Damages Democracy.”

Set to be released on Sept. 10, the book recounts how Mueller wanted to “remake the FBI in his own image,” according to the Daily Mail.

“He threw out the safeguards that were brought in by the Church Committee in 1975 and brought about a ‘new era of abuse’ against citizens,” the Mail reported Wednesday.

“Mueller’s FBI has silenced whistle-blowers and created many ‘victims of the FBI’ says German, who became an adviser to the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) after retiring and has written papers attacking the bureau.”

German’s also a fellow with the Liberty and National Security program at the Brennan Center for Justice and has frequently been cited as a legitimate source by the media. In fact, just two weeks ago The Atlantic cited him as an expert on “far-right violence. ”

And well, according to this expert, both Mueller and Comey practically destroyed the FBI.

For Mueller, the destruction reportedly began from the very beginning.

“German writes that in 2001 the FBI came under Congressional scrutiny after a string of failures such as the 1993 Waco siege. … But a week after Mueller was confirmed, the 9/11 attacks happened and those promises turned to dust,” the Mail notes.

Instead of fixing the agency’s problems, Mueller wound up exacerbating them.

“The Senate Judiciary Committee’s reform agenda was pushed aside as Mueller sought to make a more powerful and secretive FBI,” German’s book reportedly reads.

Comey’s tenure was no better.

“Under Comey, who took office in 2013, the FBI quietly removed ‘law enforcement’ from its mission statement. It now reads: ‘To protect the American people and uphold the Constitution of the United States,’ the Mail pointed out. “German sees this as ‘symbolic’ of the change in the bureau which got worse under Comey.”

“Predictably, expanding the FBI’s powers without reforming its management problems only ensured a new era of abuse would unfold and made additional intelligence failures inevitable,” he writes.

German blames the disgraced former FBI director’s attitude partially on former Attorney General Loretta Lynch. After she “fatally compromised” longstanding department principles by meeting privately with former President Bill Clinton during the height of the FBI’s investigation into his wife’s illicit email activities, Comey figured that he could do the same.

“The logic is that because one rule was broken, the rulebook was no longer operative and he could as a self-described ethical public leader, decide what the new rules were,” German’s book reportedly reads.

German is especially critical of Comey’s decision to out former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s “extremely careless” behavior despite ultimately deciding to not prosecute her for anything. It’s the same logic that was used three years later to out President Donald Trump’s alleged transgressions, despite him having not been indicted for either collusion or obstruction.

He’s equally peeved by the former director’s decision to reopen the investigation into Clinton only months before the 2016 presidential election.

“Comey’s actions arguably tipped the tightest presidential election in history and case a cloud of illegitimacy over the Trump government even before it took office,” his book reads.

Regarding Mueller’s final report on collusion or obstruction, German believes it did nothing but fuel “partisan rancor.”

“The only thing clear in this sordid mess is that the American public deserves better,” he writes. “‘We deserve to know that FBI investigations are based solely on objective evidence establishing a reasonable suspicion of criminal activity and free from political interference of any kind.”

“The stain of the FBI’s J. Edgar Hoover-era abuses should have served as a strong warning that public trust can be lost more easily than it can be recovered.”

Politically speaking, German appears to be left-wing, a fact that ought to lend him a degree of credence among congressional Democrats and the equally left-wing media.

His Twitter feed shows numerous tweets and retweets of far-left activists and blogs complaining about everything from the police apprehending Antifa terrorists at the “Straight Pride Parade” over the weekend to his former employer, the FBI, labeling Black Lives Matter a bigger threat than Al Qaeda.

That someone this far to the left would take an ax to Mueller and Comey’s respective legacies seems telling, given as both men are practically folk heroes among the far-left.
