To no one’s surprise at this point, former Vice President Joe Biden failed to rise above the froth at Wednesday’s CNN climate crisis town hall featuring a pantheon of profligate progressive politicos.
Critics roundly roasted Biden’s performance as being incoherent, vague, cowardly, and evasive, as he responded to questions about climate policy.
As if stumbling over his answers wasn’t enough, his left eye suddenly filled with blood, distracting viewers and reminding them of the fact that the 76-year-old has a long history of health-related issues and that he would be the oldest president to ever be inaugurated if he was to be elected.

A broken blood vessel in the eye is called a subconjunctival hemorrhage which can result from a number of things such as high blood pressure, blood thinners, or overexertion.
According to the Washington Examiner, “He suffers from asthma and allergies and takes a prescription drug to lower his cholesterol. He has also taken medication for an enlarged prostate.”
“In 1988, he suffered an aneurysm that burst and required him to undergo emergency surgery,” the Examiner reported. “The then-senator was so close to death that a Catholic priest began preparing to administer the sacrament of last rites.”
In 2003, Biden had his gallbladder removed. According to the newspaper, “Biden hasn’t disclosed his medical history since 2008, when doctors found he had an irregular heartbeat.”
Biden’s noncommittal answers and bloody eyeball gave those watching something to talk about on social media. And for those lefties looking for something more to become outraged about, an audience member who is a Bernie Sanders supporter stumped him when he asked: “How can we trust you to hold these corporations and executive accountable for their crimes against humanity, when we know tomorrow, you are holding a high dollar fundraiser hosted by Andrew Goldman, a fossil fuel executive?” In response, he pleaded ignorance.
Biden just confirmed he opposes banning fracking on the state and national level. A measure Germany and France introduced long ago.

All in all, the former VP shot par for the course, given his growing reputation for gaffes and stumbles. Many on the left seemed more than willing to abandon Biden for Bernie.
