Actress praises Baptist church sign calling black Trump voters mentally ill

Less than a month after white Hollywood actress and singer Bette Midler mocked black Trump rally-goers as “blackground,” yet another white Hollywood starlet has come out with a disparaging attack on those black Americans who dare to support America’s duly elected president.

In a tweet posted on Saturday afternoon, “Will & Grace” star and America-hater Debra Messing expressed praise for a bigoted dual-sided sign posted by a Baptist church in Birmingham, Alabama, that labels black Trump supporters as mentally ill and white Trump supporters as racist.

“A black vote for Trump is mental illness,” one side of the sign reads.

“A white vote for Trump is pure racism,” the other side likewise reads.

“THANK YOU #Alabama,” Messing enthusiastically tweeted in response to “Resistance” member Jon Cooper of the so-called “Democratic Coalition” sharing the story on his own feed.

What’s notable is that she wasn’t alone in her fervor. A shocking number of other admirers of the sign — most of them as white as chalk — also joined the chorus.

There were some dissidents, though, including Eric Baffour, a black Kansas man who identifies as a “free thinker.” In a scathing reply to Cooper’s original tweet, he called the stunt “pathetic.”

“This is absurd and pathetic behavior,” he wrote. “Shame on that congregations and I wonder if they are even worshipping God probably not. Material possession pastor, he’s probably rich while the rest of the congregation are poor but not concerned obviously. Shame on them all.”

It’s unclear whether his disdain for the sign makes him mentally ill as well …

The stunning support for the sign by Messing and others just like her does seem to speak to the tendency of white liberals to only respect minorities if they toe the Democrat Party line. The moment a minority of any race diverges from left-wing orthodoxy, the axe tends to drop.

It’s this behavior that likely once provoked retired neurosurgeon and current Department of Housing and Urban Development Director Ben Carson to label white liberals “the most racist people.”

They’re the most racist people there are,” he said to conservative radio show host Mark Levin back in 2013. “Because they put you in a little category, a box: ‘You have to think this way, how could you dare come off the plantation?’

The remarks were made only weeks after Carson spoke candidly at the 2013 National Prayer Breakfast about his conservative Christian beliefs. It was his words at the breakfast that catapulted him to national fame and made him a target of both white liberals and the Obama administration.

Below is that speech in full:

Messing is among the white liberals who’ve picked on Carson.

“Ben Carson Loses Brain Surgeon License After Making Numerous Brainless Comments,” she tweeted of him in 2015.

This isn’t to imply that her tweet had been racist.

It’s in part because of the disdain and derision that white liberals display toward minorities — particularly blacks — who think outside the box that’s inspired people like Candace Owens to take action. Last year the young conservative activist launched a movement to help minorities frustrated by the lack of respect they face from white liberals break their ties of bondage to the Democrat Party.

“For decades, the black community has been in an emotionally abusive relationship with the Democrat Party,” she announced last October. “Our fidelity to leftist politicians coupled with our false belief that a larger government might facilitate solutions, has led to the overall collapse of our families, neighborhoods, and incidentally, our futures.”

She added, “BLEXIT is a national movement of minorities that have awakened to the truth. It is for those who have taken an objective look at our decades-long allegiance to the left and asked ourselves ‘what do we have to show for it?’”

To be fair, white liberals aren’t the only ones who’ve disparaged non-liberal blacks. So have many black liberals, including Michael Jordan, the pastor of the church that put up the sign.

“God motivates me to take a stand for what’s right,” he said in an interview with local station WZDX. “Read the Bible and look in the White House. If they call me a racist, look in the White House. When you vote for Donald Trump, you are supporting institutionalized racism.”

Accusing blacks of being mentally ill just for the crime of thinking freely — and thus not being slaves to left-wing orthodoxy — doesn’t seem like something “God” would support, but who knows …
