The same sorts of “tolerant” left-wingers who celebrated billionaire philanthropist David Koch’s death last week are now busy hoping that Hurricane Dorian strikes President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort, which reportedly employees several hundred people.
Included among the “tolerant” left-wingers is former left-wing Canadian Prime Minister Kim Campbell, who briefly served in office from June of 1993 to November of 1993.
“I’m rooting for a direct hit on Mar a Lago!” she tweeted in response to a report that the hurricane is headed for what has been described by some outlets as a “catastrophic landfall in Florida.”
I’m rooting for a direct hit on Mar a Lago! https://t.co/cA14KQvjpC
— Kim Campbell (@AKimCampbell) August 28, 2019
Mar-a-Lago is perched in Palm Beach County, which as of 2017 housed 1.471 million people, according to data from the U.S. Census Bureau.
It’s unclear whether Campbell is rooting for their homes and lives to be upturned as well — or whether she’s so consumed with Trump Derangement Syndrome that she doesn’t realize how many people are poised to suffer (and potentially lose their lives) if Hurricane Dorian directly strikes any part of Florida.
The same may be said of David Leavitt, a self-described “journalist” who celebrated Mar-a-Lago’s potential demise because it’d allegedly prove that climate change is real (FALSE); Geovanny Vicente, a CNN political analyst who wrote that the hurricane striking Trump’s resort would be “karma”; and Chris Stein, a guitarist with the rock band Blondie who mockingly tweeted a GIF of a cackling witch.

Trump: Climate change is a hoax.

#HurricaneDorian is now projected to grow into a Category 4 storm when it makes landfall in FL. #Dorian is expected to hit even harder than previously thought and it may strike a full frontal blow on Trump’s Mar-a-Lago Club in Palm Beach. Such “tolerance” …
A whole host of random nobodies also got in on the left-wing hatred:
Hurricane Dorian missed Puerto Rico and is headed for Mar-a-Lago,
You can’t make this up ?#hurricandorian #MARALAGO pic.twitter.com/sQ7Xp0CU45

Hurricane Dorian Totally Misses Puerto Rico and is Heading Straight for Mar-a-Lago
Karma, thy name is Dorian

Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago is in the projected path of Hurricane Dorian | Tampa Bay Times https://t.co/CIPPz7Vzus
CAN YOU SAY KARMA?
Maybe if we all concentrate very hard together we can influence the hurricane and get a direct hit on this shit-hole!
— The Tweetwit ? (@TheTweetwit) August 29, 2019
If I were one to believe in irony, karma or God. I would start to wonder if Trump talking shit about PR and Dorian basically skipping a hit there and aiming for Mar a Lago was some sort of cosmic middle finger to the Donald.
Always funny when Karma kicks in.

Will the media cover any of this hatred, though? Most likely not.
After Koch’s death last week, the demonstrably left-wing media ran almost zero stories about the outpouring of hatred from the left. The only time they paid attention was when celebrated left-wing comedian and talk show host Bill Maher said of Koch, “I’m glad he’s dead.” That comment received media attention, albeit mostly positive media attention.
“Like him or not, on Friday night Bill Maher did what he does best. He used his platform to cut through what he deems as nonsense, no matter the blowback or regard for political niceties,” Rolling Stone’s “reporters” enthusiastically wrote.
Meanwhile, in describing the host’s monologue, The Daily Beast referred to the part specifically about Koch as “the kicker.”
If Hurricane Dorian strikes Mar-a-Lago and the communities that surround it, perhaps these same “loving” liberals will think all the deaths that follow are “the kicker” as well.
The only left-wing figure who’s taken a stand against the hatred has been Democrat presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders, who scolded a crowd of supporters after they cheered Koch’s death at a campaign event in Minnesota last weekend.
“I don’t applaud, you know, the death of somebody. We needn’t do that,” the 2020 contender said before going on to talk about Citizens United, the criminal justice system and other topics.
Watch:
But to hear or read similar responses to the Dorian-fueled hatred, you’re not going to be able to rely on Sanders or, God forbid, anybody in the media. But you can look to local residents like Allen Covert and “Minivan-driving, shower-singing, wine-drinking, Packer-loving Boy Mom[s]” like Kristin Karnitz.
“My family lives about 10 miles from Mar-a-Lago so all of you people cheering the fact that Dorian might wipe it out can kindly go f–k yourselves. You have sunk so low in your hatred that you have become worse than what you hate,” Covert bluntly wrote on Twitter.
“Friends….can we MAYBE consider a cease and desist on this whole ‘Karma’ celebration because Dorian is heading towards Mar-a-Lago?” Karnitz added. “It’s also heading towards our friends, family and other human beings that live in the area. And they certainly don’t deserve this.”
Fact-check: NOBODY DESERVES THIS …
My family lives about 10 miles from Mar-a-Lago so all of you people cheering the fact that Dorian might wipe it out can kindly go fuck yourselves. You have sunk so low in your hatred that you have become worse than what you hate.

Friends….can we MAYBE consider a cease and desist on this whole “Karma” celebration because Dorian is heading towards Mar-a-Lago? It’s also heading towards our friends, family and other human beings that live in the area.
And they certainly don’t deserve this.#Dorian— Kristin Karnitz (@KristinKarnitz) August 29, 2019
