Trump shares tweet, Jewish people ‘love him like he’s the King of Israel’

President Donald Trump is not backing off of his Tuesday comments about Jewish voters being “disloyal” to Israel if they vote Democrat.

“You vote for a Democrat you’re being very disloyal to Jewish people and being very disloyal to Israel,” the president told reporters on Tuesday. The comments have inspired plenty of criticism from the left.

Trump is unmoved by the controversy. He doubled down on his comments in Wednesday morning tweets where he quoted author and radio host Wayne Allyn Root, praising his comments.

“President Trump is the greatest President for Jews and for Israel in the history of the world, not just America, he is the best President for Israel in the history of the world…and the Jewish people in Israel love him like he’s the King of Israel,” Root said.

He continued, “They love him like he is the second coming of God…But American Jews don’t know him or like him. They don’t even know what they’re doing or saying anymore. It makes no sense! But that’s OK, if he keeps doing what he’s doing, he’s good for all Jews, Blacks, Gays, everyone. And importantly, he’s good for everyone in America who wants a job.”

“Thank you to Wayne Allyn Root for the very nice words,” Trump tweeted about the comments.

This entire controversy began with Reps. Rashida Tlaib, D-MI, and Ilhan Omar, D-MN, both being disinvited to Israel over past anti-Semitic comments and current ties to anti-Semitic groups.

Tlaib even played politics and asked for permission to visit the country in order to see her grandmother. Once permission was given, she refused to go and proved the whole thing was a stunt by then blasting the state of Israel.

“Five years ago, the concept of even talking about this … cutting off aid to Israel because of two people that hate Israel and hate Jewish people — I can’t believe we’re even having this conversation,” Trump said this week about the whole mess.

The president previously tweeted that he thought Israel treated the congresswomen fairly.

The Jewish Democratic Council of America has said Trump is trying to “weaponise and politicize anti-Semitism” for political power.

Joe Scarborough compared Trump’s language about Jewish people to that of the Nazis in World War II.

“That lies right at the heart of anti-Semitic tropes. Again, for decades, for generations, for centuries, for centuries, this is exactly how Jews have been attacked not only in the Soviet Union but in Germany, across the world, that they are quote, insufficiently loyal,” Scarborough said.

What’s most important to note in this situation is the difference in reaction to comments by Tlaib and Omar versus Trump. Trump makes a comment about “disloyal” Jewish voters and he is suddenly anti-Semitic. Tlaib and Omar make horrifying comments about Jewish people and the state of Israel, and Democrats bend over backwards to ignore those comments and to keep the focus on Trump.

“Rep Tlaib wants to cut off aid to Israel. This is the new face the of Democrat Party? Read the AOC PLUS 3 statements on their hatred of Jews and Israel. Check out Rep. Omar (the great people of Minnesota won’t stand for this),” Trump tweeted on Wednesday, suggesting he is not backing down in his feud with the freshman congresswomen.
