Twitter muzzles Scaramucci as war with Trump escalates

There’ll be no fat-shaming in Jack Dorsey’s Twitter-verse… even if is Donald Trump.

Former Trump White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci has been put in Twitter jail, with the last tweet he posted on his timeline coming late Thursday, a cheap shot at President Trump’s waistline.

The tweet was in response to Trump slamming an overweight person he thought was interrupting his rally in New Hampshire — turns out, the man being escorted out was a Trump supporter who had intervened when others began protesting. That man, Frank Dawson, still loves Trump, telling Fox News “he’s the best thing that ever happened to this country.”

Scaramucci tweeted a clip of the incident as Trump told him to go home and exercise, adding: “Said the fattest President since William Howard Taft . . .”

Reporter Jonathan Swan took to Twitter early Friday to say Twitter “has temporarily suspended” Scaramucci’s account and included a quote from him and a screenshot of what was purported to be a note from the social media platform telling Scaramucci that his account was now locked because he had “violated the Twitter rules.”

“I think it is related to ‘fat shaming’ President Trump,” Scaramucci reportedly said. “I should have said he is the largest proportioned President since William Howard Taft. My bad.”

The strange thing about Twitter rules is that if it was due to the fat-shaming post, the tweet was still up as of this writing — but then, making sense of Twitter’s goofy rules can be an exercise in frustration in itself.

Despite the above message using the term “locked,” the New York Post reported that the account was “suspended,” not locked — as noted above, his feed is still accessible:

As for Scaramucci, as we get near the 2020 presidential election, the former Trump official has found a substitute claim to fame that assures him a nightly appearance on nation television via CNN or MSNBC by bashing his former boss — Scaramucci lasted but 11 days in the administration.

There are few things the anti-Trump networks like more than Republicans who hate Trump, and Scaramucci is astute at the game of drawing headlines. He just predicted that the president is going to drop out of the race, followed by the claim that Trump is “mentally declining.”

The president pushed back at Scaramucci last week, saying he “knows very little about me.”

“Anthony Scaramucci, who was quickly terminated (11 days) from a position that he was totally incapable of handling, now seems to do nothing but television as the all time expert on ‘President Trump.’ Like many other so-called television experts, he knows very little about me….,” Trump tweeted.

The Trump haters responded to the story by questioning why Trump’s account has not been suspended — the tweet being a fair representation of the unhinged ranting seen:

For others, they were either skeptical that something else was at play here, or not too concerned about Mooch being put in the Twitter hoosegow.

Here’s a sampling of some of those responses from Twitter:
