As a billionaire businessman, President Donald Trump appears to know how to raise money from anything and everything, including even CNN’s demonstrable insanity.
And so in response to the hubbub surrounding CNN anchor Chris Cuomo, who was caught on video over the weekend threatening a man and crying that the nickname “Fredo” is equivalent to the n-word, the president’s campaign has begun selling Cuomo-themed t-shirts.
Dubbed the “Fredo Unhinged Tee,” the hilarious t-shirt features screenshots of the CNN anchor’s unhinged face and the words “Text ‘Fredo’ To 88022.”
Look:
It appears the shirt went on sale Tuesday afternoon, a day after video footage of Cuomo threatening to throw a random man down the stairs went viral across the internet.
The footage was captured Sunday at a bar in Shelter Island, where an unidentified man approached him to ask for a picture, but made the mistake of accidentally referring to him as “Fredo.”
It was uploaded to the internet on Monday by a YouTube channel going by the alias “THAT’S THE POINT with Brandon.” In a Twitter post late Monday evening, the channel’s accompanying Twitter account confirmed some of the known details about the encounter.
On 8/11/19 in Shelter Island, NY. My source that sent this in says he was just asking for a photo and thought his name was Fredo from being an avid listener of @RushLimbaughEIB

Note what the account wrote about conservative radio show host Rush Limbaugh. For years Limbaugh has mockingly referred to Cuomo as “Fredo” in reference to “The Godfather” character Frederico “Fredo” Corleone, who is the less successful younger brother of Sonny Corleone — much like the CNN anchor is the less successful younger brother of New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo.
As an avid listener of Limbaugh’s program, the unidentified man who unintentionally triggered the altercation allegedly thought that Cuomo’s name really was Fredo. This suggests that, contrary to claims by the anchor’s defenders, the man isn’t a “jerk” who’d been motivated by malice.
I say good for @ChrisCuomo
He’s out with his 9 year old daughter, and his wife, and this guy is being a jackass in front of his family.
Imho Chris Cuomo has zero to apologize for. He deserves the apology. https://t.co/VnyMNgz14U

I think the guy was being a jerk to @chriscuomo, and I certainly understand Cuomo getting pissed, but there’s just no way calling someone Fredo Corleone is like the n-word. There just isn’t. That’s plain nuts.

Whether it’s @ChrisCuomo @SHSanders45 @KellyannePolls or me – if u rudely confront/assault someone because u think u have *that right* in any public place, you are wrong.
Fredo clearly isn’t a slur akin to the N-word, but I have no problem with Chris letting that jerk have it.

Kudos for my friend & colleague @ChrisCuomo for standing up to a manipulative jerk who wanted to goad a public figure into “gotcha” moment lucky for jerk he backed down when Chris offered jerk a first punch – would have been jerk’s first & only punch #ChrisCuomo #kudosforcuomo

Let me get this straight.
Some jackass insults @ChrisCuomo, who stands up for himself. And because he is a host on @cnn we’re all supposed to side with the guy who was being a jerk?
No.
With ya, Chris.

The guy was out with his family and a jerk got into his face. @ChrisCuomo has nothing to apologize for. Except saying that “Fredo” is the “N-word” for Italians. That’s crazy. Chris? Don’t be a chumbolone. C’mon man. https://t.co/qHaaEVRdF4

And even if the man had been motivated by malice — which seems dubious — it’s not clear that him merely referring to Cuomo by a nickname would warrant being threatened with physical harm.
Just to be clear, the actual video footage appears to only show one person acting unhinged and psychotic — and that person would be the CNN anchor.
Watch:
*Language warning
It was an ironic display from Cuomo — the type of display, in fact, you might see in an Italian mobster movie like, say, “The Godfather.”
The one thing both the CNN personality’s defenders and detractors agree on is that he should have never claimed that the nickname “Fredo” is equivalent to the n-word. Nor should his employer have issued a widely criticized statement claiming “Fredo” is an “ethnic slur.”

But since Cuomo did act unhinged and did make an absurd claim, there’s no reason the president can’t raise campaign funds off of it.
What remains unclear is how long these t-shirts —Â which are available for men and women and in sizes ranging from small to triple extra-large — will remain available for purchase.
In announcing the shirts’ release Tuesday, the president’s 2020 campaign manager, Brad Parscale, wrote that there’s “a limited supply.”
Get your commemorative #FredoCuomo Unhinged shirt today! We only have a limited supply of the shirt, which was inspired by the epic & historic viral video of @CNN‘s @ChrisCuomo meltdown!https://t.co/Iv8jqnIDIk

Selling faster than Fredo’s meltdown! Thank you #FredoCuomo for filling up our coffers. You have now directly supported the POTUS! https://t.co/UP0vhijJJB

As of Wednesday morning, Cuomo had not yet responded to the production and sale of these t-shirts, so be sure to be on the lookout for another unhinged rant. #ThisIsCNN.
