Back to back mass shootings; Sunday morning gunman in Ohio leaves at least 9 dead, 16 wounded

Just hours after a shooting at an El Paso, Texas Walmart left 20 people dead, another shooting took place in Dayton, Ohio where nine people were fatally shot before the gunman was killed by police.

The Dayton shooting took place around 1 a.m. on Sunday morning in a popular entertainment district known as the Oregon District, which features a number of bars and restaurants, the Cincinnati Enquirer reported.

The gunman opened fire outside near Ned Peppers bar, using a “long gun,” according to police, before being shot and killed by responding officers. His identity has yet to be released.

In addition to the nine fatalities, there were 16 people taken to the hospital with injuries.

Taking to social media, the Dayton Police Department said it had officers nearby and this allowed them to quickly respond.

“We had officers in the immediate vicinity when this shooting began and were able to respond and put an end to it quickly,” read a tweet from the official DPD Twitter account.

DPD Lieutenant Colonel Matt Carper told reporters this prevented a worse scene.

“For that, we are very fortunate,” Carper said, according to NBC News. “This is a very tragic incident. We are doing everything we can to investigate it and try to identify the motivation behind this.”

Taylor Mayberry spoke with NBC News about her experience, telling the network she was inside Ned Peppers when the shooting took place.

“I just heard a few gunshots and then saw everyone jumping to the ground,” she said. “I’ve never experienced anything like that, so I dove to the ground and started running to the bathroom. I saw people trying to move toward the exit.”

Mayberry made her way to a bathroom where 10 others were taking shelter, hiding there as “tons of gunshots” were heard.

“We were holding the door shut and waiting until the gunshots stopped,” she said. “People were banging on the doors throughout. We weren’t sure if they were … you know … we weren’t sure if it was people getting in to shoot us or to get safe.”

The Ned Peppers bar posted a message on its Instagram account that read: “All of our staff is safe and our hearts go out to everyone involved as we gather information.”

Police are using the Dayton Convention Center as a gathering point for loves ones to get more information, according to local reporters.

The left wasted no time politicizing the Dayton shooting, just as they did the El Paso shooting, where that suspect reportedly voiced concerns about immigration — there has been no information released so far on the possible motivations of the Dayton gunman.

Liberals are using the two incidents to denounce “white supremacy terrorism,” with Twitter allowing the phrase to trend — it’s not clear yet the race of the Dayton shooter.

That and blaming President Donald Trump, of course.

Check out some Trump-related reactions below, which are mostly the expected leftist fantasies about every Trump supporter being a whit supremacist:
