US Senator personally escorts 8 1/2 months pregnant Mexican woman and her family into US

With teams of open-border lawyers and some of America’s largest newspapers camped on the southern border, eager to run interference for illegal immigrants, what more do migrants seeking economic improvement need?

How about a sitting U.S. Senator crossing into Mexico to be of service to them — a Democratic, of course.

When poor migrants from Mexico and Central America flock to the U.S.-Mexico border by the tens of thousands every month, there is a virtual army on hand to welcome them, assure their every need is met and even assist them in getting around U.S. immigration officials.

Sen. Ron Wyden (D-OR) shared a video online Saturday touting how he personally escorted a Mexican citizen who was eight months pregnant into the U.S. to make an asylum claim — the effort coming at a time when Border Patrol is overwhelmed with a sea of people flooding the border and crowded detention centers are full.

The woman and her family were turned away at the border, with agents saying that they were “full.”

Wyden and his entourage, which included immigration lawyers, staff members and the ACLU, intervened to have them accepted. The justification offered was because the woman was allegedly having a difficult pregnancy.

The senator tweeted, “I went across the border into Juarez, Mexico to tour a shelter housing asylum seekers being forced to stay in Mexico instead of the U.S. while they wait to hear if they’ve been granted asylum. They are fleeing persecution and violence, seeking a better life for their families.”

“While across the border, I met a young woman who was seeking refuge in the U.S., who was more than 8 months pregnant,” the Democrat added about his encounter.

“There were concerns she had serious medical complications that were life-threatening to her & her unborn baby,” Wyden continued. “She tried to get across the border but was denied until it became clear to law enforcement that I was accompanying her. She was taken to a hospital to get care.”

Wyden is a far-left lawmaker who stops short of calling himself a socialist, but according to the Heritage Foundation, he’s practically in lockstep with Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) who at least owns up to being a socialist.

A lawyer by trade, Wyden brought a physician with him to the border. He didn’t go into details on how the pregnant woman was examined, other than to say that the female doctor said she “was looking at some very serious health care complications.”

“She had a previous diagnosis of preeclampsia, which already places her at high risk,” Oregon pediatrician Lauren Herbert said, according to the Washington Post.

“She described two days of leaking fluid,” she added. “This is a high-risk pregnancy, and she needs to be seen by a doctor. Now.”

In a tweet that suggests this will be a new strategy on the left to open our borders, the senator said there could be “thousands” of women in Mexico who need medical care.

“It shouldn’t have to take being escorted by a U.S. Senator to get asylum seekers and migrants to safety in the United States. After my time in Juarez, I’m reflecting on the hundreds — perhaps thousands — of women just like her who are unable to get the medical care they need,” he tweeted.

And just like that, Sen. Wyden put U.S. taxpayers on the hook to treat pregnant women of the world who can make it to our border.

Ignoring that his efforts and his party’s policies play a huge role in creating the crisis on the border, Wyden said in another tweet that he will return to Washington to fight the “conditions” at the border that Democrats are largely responsible for — residents in cities like Baltimore who are looking for a little help will have to wait in line.

“The Trump administration is treating children & their families at the border like they’re dangerous criminals, keeping them in conditions not fit for any person. Make no mistake: when I return to Washington, I will be fighting to put an end to these life-threatening policies,” Wyden tweeted.

As for the aforementioned newspapers, Washington Post reporter Bob Moore was on hand to lend an assist in recounting Wyden’s exploits and, essentially, run interference for the migrant family.
