Despite years of crude attacks on her and her family by congressional Democrats, Hollywood and the mainstream media, first lady Melania Trump is now the third most admired woman in the United States.
Meanwhile, her husband, President Donald Trump, is the second most admired man in the U.S.
These numbers are based on YouGov’s “America’s Most Admired 2019” survey. The only people who outperformed Melania were former first lady Michelle Obama and Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. The only individual to outperform the president was former President Barack Obama.
Within the United States, the most admired people are @BarackObama and @MichelleObama. Other people admired by many Americans are:
– Ruth Bader Ginsburg
– @FLOTUS
– @TheEllenShow– @realDonaldTrump
– Clint Eastwood
– @BillGates https://t.co/RUy11DriJn pic.twitter.com/i70G4PlhF3— YouGovUS (@YouGovUS) July 18, 2019
The first lady outperformed former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, the failed 2016 Democrat presidential nominee who maligned all of her husband’s supporters as “deplorables,” by five spots.
She also outperformed billionaire celebrity Oprah Winfrey, gay talk show host Ellen DeGeneres, former Bush administration official Condoleeza Rice and former U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Nikki Haley.
The president meanwhile outperformed former Vice President Joe Biden, the 2020 contender whom many believe stands the highest chance of defeating Trump at the ballot box next year.
What makes the Trumps’ YouGov numbers particularly impressive are the relentless attacks they have and continue to face from so-called “mainstream” America — i.e., those elitists with influence who think their loud, belligerent voices represent middle America. FYI, their voices certainly don’t.
Day in and day out, Melania and her family are harshly criticized by mainstream voices over virtually everything. These voices have called for the first lady’s immigration status to be revoked and for her to deported to Slovenia:
.@MelaniaTrump-Is this a sick joke? No one wants to hear you talk about cyber bullying, when the biggest cyber bully in the history of the world is your husband. If you had stopped him a year ago, maybe we’d listen. But you’ve done nothing to stop him. Time to #DeportMelania.

Migrants have done more for this country than your family ever has, and no migrant has committed more crimes than your family has. Your current wife came into this country fraudulently. #DeportMelania.

So as long as illegal immigrants are “gorgeous” we should let them in to work illegally? Looks like you’re an Open Borders kinda gal, Janie #DeportMelania #ICERaids

They’ve mocked her Slovenian accent:
They’ve even made domestic violence jokes about her.
“And finally, after not being seen for 25 days, Melania has reappeared following her kidney surgery,” failed Netflix comedian Michelle Wolf said in one of her monologues last year.
“Some people are saying this is Melania’s cover for plastic surgery but, I don’t buy that. Her husband obviously loves her for who she is. Whatever really happened with Melania, I genuinely hope it doesn’t come out that Donald hurt her,” she continued, adding “that’s bad” because “then we couldn’t make fun of her anymore.”
These constant attacks eventually led to a stunning moment last year when the first lady wore a jacket that bore the logo “I really don’t care. Do u?” while boarding a plane in Maryland hours after visiting a detention center in Texas for illegal alien children.
At the time, notable left-wingers inside and outside of the media rushed to make it the focus of their lives and falsely accuse the first lady of wearing it while en route to see the children:
Let’s just talk facts. Melania Trump flies to Texas to meet with immigrant children separated from their parents. Good for her. She wears a jacket that says “I really don’t care.” This is tone deaf at best. Why would anyone wear a jacket that says “I don’t care” any time?

This morning Patton texted me the photo of Melania in that jacket.
I replied, “that’s totally photoshopped” no way would she be that blatantly insensitive.
I can’t believe I was wrong. I sincerely thought there is NO WAY that’s real. And yet…

Melania Trump is already being celebrated in white supremacist circles for wearing that jacket. Trump’s plan worked.
— Scott Dworkin (@funder) June 21, 2018
Note how Melania Trump hasn’t apologized for wearing the jacket. She really doesn’t care. She wasn’t joking.
— Scott Dworkin (@funder) June 21, 2018
Dear Melania Trump,
We know you really don’t care. If you did you wouldn’t be using children as a photo op.
Yes we do care. If we didn’t we wouldn’t be voicing our opinion.
Your jacket works perfectly.
You don’t.

Melania Trump really wore a Zara jacket with “I REALLY DON’T CARE. DO U?” on the back while flying to Texas to visit shelters for migrant children separated from their parents.
That is callous and unacceptable. pic.twitter.com/y9Xkt7yxY9

It turned out that all of these haters helped prove her point.
In an ABC News interview months later in October of that year, she revealed that she’d worn the jacket to send a message to the left.
“You know, I often asking myself, if I would not wear that jacket, if I will have so much media coverage,” she said. “And it’s obvious I didn’t wear the jacket for the children. I wore the jacket to go on the plane and off the plane.”
“And it was for the people and for the left-wing media who are criticizing me. And I wanna show them that I don’t care. You could criticize whatever you wanna say, but it will not stop me to do what I feel is right.”
Melania Trump tells @TomLlamasABC she wore the ‘I really don’t care’ jacket “for the people and for the left-wing media who are criticizing me. And I want to show them that I don’t care.” #MelaniaTrump https://t.co/EqEyfZkJvZ pic.twitter.com/2EWeCKB0de

Her point had been that no matter what she does, she’ll always face criticism. Speaking of which, how do you suppose they’re responding to this year’s YouGov results? If you guessed that they’re mocking her for being slightly outperformed by Michelle Obama, you guessed correctly.
But mock and complain all they want, at the end of the day she’s still the second most admired woman in America, so sorry leftists, but Melania gets the last laugh.
