With the news that activist Willem Van Spronsen declared himself a member of the domestic terrorist group Antifa in a manifesto he left behind after being killed in an attack on a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention center, getting a Democrat on Capitol Hill to condemn the assault was a tall task.
Armed with flares and a rifle, 69-year-old Van Spronsen was killed after reportedly throwing “incendiary devices” at a Tacoma, Wash., ICE detention center and nearby propane tanks.
And given that his manifesto reflected the very language that Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., has used and continues to use, that being the false assertion that the U.S. government is running “concentration camps,” the socialist lawmaker was asked to comment on the incident.
“Will you condemn Antifa for the attack in Washington?” Rebel Media’s Keean Bexte asked Ocasio-Cortez as she walked in a hallway in the Rayburn House Office Building.
“We’ll be making a statement later today,” the lawmaker muttered.
“It’s easy to condemn a terrorist attack,” Bexte said. “They firebombed an American facility, will you condemn them.”

Ocasio-Cortez ignored the question, as an aide eyed the reporter with contempt.
“Do you feel like you have some responsibility for the attack, with your rhetoric about concentration camps?” the reporter then asked. “Are you responsible?”
Of course, personal responsibility and consequences for one’s action is not on the list of progressive values that Ocasio-Cortez adheres to.
Van Spronsen’s manifesto, in which he declares, “I am antifa,” was shared online by KIRO TV and he uses the term “concentration camp” multiple times in reference to ICE detention centers.
“Evil says concentration camps for folks deemed lesser are necessary. The handmaid of evil says the concentration camps should be more humane,” he wrote.
Ocasio-Cortez has been using that phrase for some time.
“That is exactly what they are. They’re concentration camps,” she said last month in a live Instagram video. “The fact that concentrations camps are now an institutionalized practice in the Home of the Free is extraordinarily disturbing and we need to do something about it.”

Less than two weeks later, former New York Daily News columnist Shaun King, who was a Black Lives Matter activist, called for ICE detention centers to be liberated “by any means necessary.”
And Van Spronsen did do “something about it,” he went on a suicide mission.
As seen from Rebel Media, Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., was also asked to condemn Antifa and like her comrade from New York, the Somali refugee refused to comment.
A third member of the “squad” of radical freshman Democrats was also asked, but Rep. Ayanna Pressley, D-Mass., responded only to reprimand Bexte for violating her personal space.

Of all the lawmakers featured in the video, only Rep. Mark Meadows, R-N.C., was willing to denounce the attack on the detention facility.
