AOC’s loose-lipped chief admits what Green New Deal’s all about: You think it’s a ‘climate thing?’

It appears the cat’s finally out of the bag …

During a recent meeting with Democrat presidential candidate Jay Inslee’s so-called climate director, Sam Ricketts, one of Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s staff members admitted the truth about the radical freshman’s equally radical “Green New Deal.”

The interesting thing about the Green New Deal is it wasn’t originally a climate thing at all,” AOC’s chief of staff, Saikat Chakrabarti, reportedly said to Ricketts.

“Do you guys think of it as a climate thing?” he then asked rhetorically, adding, “Because we really think of it as a how-do-you-change-the-entire-economy thing.”

These words were heard by The Washington Post Magazine “reporter” David Montgomery, who accompanied Chakrabarti to the meeting and then published a profile about it this week.

According to Montgomery, Ricketts responded to Chakrabarti’s admission by expressing his belief that the GND has two purposes.

“I think it’s, it’s, it’s, it’s dual,” he reportedly said. “It is both rising to the challenge that is existential around climate, and it is building an economy that contains more prosperity. More sustainability in that prosperity — and more broadly shared prosperity, equitability and justice throughout.”

More so-called “social justice,” to be exact …

Chakrabarti reportedly liked the answer.

“The thing I think you guys are doing that’s so incredible is … you guys are actually figuring out how to do it and make it work, the comprehensive plan where it all fits together,” he said.

“I’d love to get into a situation where everyone’s trying to just outdo each other. I’ll be honest, my view is I still think you guys aren’t going big enough.”

“Well, you know, we’re not done,” Ricketts replied. “When it comes to a nationwide economic mobilization, there’s more to come on this front, for one. And other key components we’re going to be rolling forward speak to some of the key justice elements of this … ensuring every community’s got a part of this.”

To be clear, the words spoken at this meeting weren’t remotely shocking — or at least they shouldn’t have been. Ever since the day AOC trotted out her radical GND in February, conservatives have been perfectly aware of the plan’s true intention.

It was obvious from the FAQ the congresswoman released at the time. The stunning document not only stipulated the elimination of air travel, combustion-engine vehicles, nuclear energy, fossil fuel energy and meat, but it also called for redesigning America from top to bottom and creating a utopia where everybody would be guaranteed a job (assuming they want one), in addition to free education, free healthcare, free housing, etc.

What was unusual and surprising was Chakrabarti’s willingness to be so upfront. Since day one, he and his “boss,” Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez, have been acting like the FAQ was a mistake.

Chakrabarti went so far as to suggest it was doctored:

Robert Hockett, a Cornell law professor who was advising AOC on the GND, even falsely claimed on national television that the congresswoman’s proposal didn’t include so-called “economic protections” for those “unwilling to work.”

“I, we, we never would, right? And AOC has never said anything like that, right? I think you’re referring to some sort of document that some, I think some doctored document that somebody other than us has been circulating,” he said.

It was a lie.

Listen:

Almost everything said by the congresswoman and her staff about the GND since the plan was unveiled in February has been a lie. It’s been an endless stream of lies designed to downplay the radicalism of the plan and exaggerate the alleged risks of so-called climate change.

And all these lies have been touted despite scathing criticism and objections from a plethora of notable figures, including but not limited to Greenpeace co-founder Patrick Moore and U.S. Chamber of Commerce CEO Tom J. Donohue.

In a statement issued back in February, Donohue, in particular, noted that certain “aspects of the Green New Deal seem wildly out of place for an environmental resolution.”

No kidding …

“Consider the promise of massive new entitlement programs that could only be achieved through a radical redistribution of wealth. Here, the proposal shows its true colors. This is not some run-of-the-mill progressive policy – it is a Trojan Horse for socialism,” he wrote.

And wouldn’t you know it, five months later, AOC’s own chief of staff has finally admitted that the so-called “Green New Deal” is in effect nothing but a “Trojan Horse” for a radical redesign of America and its otherwise booming economy.

This isn’t Chakrabarti’s first ‘gaffe’ or inadvertent admission. Last month, AOC’s loose-lipped chief deleted a tweet where he compared moderate Democrats to ‘segregationists.’

The comment is still spurring animosity among an increasingly divided Democrat Party.
