‘Coach of the year’! Hockey coach telling players consequences of disrespecting national anthem goes viral

An online video of an unidentified hockey coach informing his team of where he stands when it comes to showing respect for the national anthem, be it the United States rendition or the Canadian, is going viral.

**WARNING for strong language.

Leaving no room for misinterpretation, the coach referenced U.S. Women’s Soccer and the NFL in telling his players if they plan on being disrespectful to “grab your gear and get the f–k out now.”

And social media loves it!

“We’re not women’s soccer. We’re not the NFL,” the coach said. “If there’s anybody here who is going to be disrespectful to either the American or the Canadian national anthem, grab your gear and get the f**k out now because you’ll never see the ice in this arena.”

He went on to explain that hockey doesn’t “have that problem,” and reassured his team that he doesn’t believe any of them would be disrespectful.

“We don’t have that problem in hockey, we’re better than that but there was no sense in wasting anybody’s time if that sh*t was going to happen,” the coach added. “I don’t believe it would happen here. We’re the most patriotic sport they have out there.”

An assertion that NASCAR might beg to differ on.

The video has been seen nearly a half million times as of this writing, with 27,810 “Likes.”

The trend of disrespecting the national anthem began with former NFL player Colin Kaepernick, a radical left-wing athlete who claimed he was protesting police brutality and racial oppression, but his recent instruction to Nike to pull a sneaker featuring a Betsy Ross flag proved that it was the American flag all along that he was opposing.

U.S. Womens Soccer player Megan Rapinoe picked up on that protest, kneeling while the national anthem was played before games, which described as a “good ‘F you’” to President Trump and his administration.

The U.S. Soccer Federation adopted a policy mandating players to stand during the national anthem — the radical gay player follows the policy, but refuses to place her hand over her heart.

As the team celebrated winning back-to-back World Cup titles on Sunday, Rapinoe was involved in an incident where player Allie Long threw an American flag on the ground and they both appeared to stomp on it.

Another player, Kelley O’Hara, quickly swept in to rescue Old Glory.

The coach appears to be from a junior hockey league, but either way, he was popular on social media. Here’s a sampling of responses from Twitter:
