President Donald Trump took to Twitter on Monday to rail against New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and New York Attorney General Letitia James continuing to put his businesses and children under scrutiny.
“It is very hard and expensive to live in New York. Governor Andrew Cuomo uses his Attorney General as a bludgeoning tool for his own purposes,” the president tweeted. “They sue on everything, always in search of a crime. I even got sued on a Foundation which took Zero rent & expenses & gave away more money than it had.”
Trump continued, “Going on for years, originally brought by Crooked Hillary’s Campaign Chair, A.G. Eric Schneiderman, until forced to resign for abuse against women. They never even looked at the disgusting Clinton Foundation. Now Cuomo’s A.G. is harassing all of my New York businesses in search of anything at all they can find to make me look as bad as possible.”

Trump said this sort of behavior added with the growing taxes and increased expenses of living in New York are why people are fleeing the once flourishing state.
“So, on top of ridiculously high taxes, my children and companies are spending a fortune on lawyers. No wonder people and businesses are fleeing New York in record numbers!” he tweeted.

He later added, “That’s right, The Trump Foundation gave away 100% plus, with Zero rent or expenses charged, and has been being sued by Cuomo and New York State for years – another part of the political Witch Hunt. Just in case anyone is interested — Clinton Foundation never even looked at!”

Though not specifically named in the tweets, New York Attorney General Letitia James seemed to see this as her moment to claim the spotlight so she jumped on Twitter to respond.
“As the elected AG of NY, I have a sworn duty to protect & uphold state law. My office will follow the facts of any case, wherever they lead. Make no mistake: No one is above the law, not even the President. P.S. My name is Letitia James. (You can call me Tish.),” she tweeted.
In a Monday press conference, Cuomo admitted to not seeing Trump’s tweets yet, but he responded to them anyway.
“He doesn’t understand how government works,” the governor said. “His suggestion that it’s my attorney general is incorrect.”
The governor later added a classic line that big government supporters love to use.
“If he has nothing to hide, he has nothing to worry about,” he said.
Though he doesn’t specifically name the investigations, it appears the president is referring to legal probes into the Trump Foundation.
Hillary Clinton even responded to Trump’s tweets by laughably defending the Clinton Foundation, a foundation that has faced far more controversies than anything Trump has ever been involved in.
“The @ClintonFdn has—among many other things—provided 13k doses of naloxone to fight ODs and helped deliver supplies to Puerto Rico in the face of your inaction. Your foundation, in the NY AG’s words, engaged in ‘a shocking pattern of illegality,'” she tweeted to the president.
Nope.
