Right-leaning thinkers and conservatives are often openly discriminated against today. We see it happen in the public arena on a daily basis, but it’s important to remember that it happens in people’s personal lives too.
Conservative commentator and Fox Nation host Tomi Lahren detailed a personal discrimination she went through in her new book “Never Play Dead: How the Truth Makes You Unstoppable.” An excerpt from the book ran in the New York Post and it revealed a bit of a feud between Lahren and a winner of the reality television series “The Bachelorette.”
Lahren said her boyfriend’s best friend since childhood, former quarterback Jordan Rodgers, won a recent season of the reality series and was then engaged to the star at the center of the show’s twelfth season, JoJo Fletcher. When the reality stars moved into Lahren’s neighborhood she said she tried numerous times to set up a double date with the couple, but they would always back out at the last minute.
She finally began to suspect that the ditching was intentional.
“When they canceled plans yet again over Memorial Day weekend, I started to realize that this flaking situation was intentional,” the former host for The Blaze wrote.
After her boyfriend eventually met up with the couple by himself, he met Lahren at a bar afterwards where things became clear.
“By the time he arrived, I’d been analyzing the situation with my friends for hours. ‘Brandon, I’m going to be honest with you,’ I said. ‘I know exactly what’s going on. JoJo doesn’t want to be seen with me in public.’ At first he didn’t say anything, but then he nodded his head,” she wrote.
The situation left Lahren crying in the bathroom.
“Sometimes life sucks. Sometimes I get my feelings hurt and personal stuff gets me. And this got me. So if I’m feeling something, I will cry in the bathroom. After a rough week of people trying to trip me at bars and other incidents, it was too much to imagine that Brandon’s best friend’s fiancée would not want to be seen with me just because she wanted to please other people. It was crushing,” she wrote.

Lahren continued by saying people should be more open to interacting with people who hold different political beliefs.
“News flash: Contrary to popular belief, you can listen to and respect someone’s point of view without absorbing it. And you can agree with parts of what someone says without agreeing with all of it,” she wrote.
Lahren has dealt with plenty of discrimination in the past for her beliefs.
She has had water thrown at her at restaurants and she even details in the book incidents where people openly say derogatory things to her in public places, something she has learned to ignore.
She also receives supportive in public too, something also detailed in her book.
Lahren’s book is available now. The 26-year-old conservative currently hosts a Fox Nation show called “First Thoughts.”
