The privately funded We Build the Wall group is encountering a one-woman would-be wrecking crew in the form of IBWC Public Affairs Officer Lori Kuczmanski whose Twitter page is filled with smears and lies.
Kolfage and company are fighting back, however, and following an attorney’s warning letter sent to the IBWC, the lightweight, PR flack’s Twitter account is locked.
A quick bit of background on the IBWC … the International Boundary and Water Commission is a joint organization administered by Mexico’s Secretariat of Foreign Relations and the U.S. State Department. Its charter is to apply rules for determining the location of the international boundary between the countries when rivers change course.
The We Build the Wall organization founded by triple amputee veteran Brian Kolfage and led by Steve Bannon among other prominent patriotic Americans, successfully built a one-mile section of border wall on privately owned land over a single weekend at the end of May … all at a bargain cost, coming in well under the price that any government agency has claimed it would take.
The amazing feat was undertaken with the cooperation of IBWC, though it appears Kuczmanski “didn’t get the memo” that her employer is on board with the effort. The Beto O’Rourke supporter has been stepping well out of line in an attempt to keep the border wide open.
A statement Kolfage sent out on Saturday reads:
This week we’ve been dealing with the International Boundary and Waterway Commission (IBWC) over a gate we installed next to our wall in Sunland Park, NM, free of charge. For about a day the IBWC locked the gate open and then we reached an agreement where they would keep the gate locked at night and only open the gate at intermittent times during the day to allow their employees access to the dam they manage.
By Friday, our talks with the IBWC had gone so well that IBWC Commissioner Jayne Harkins put out a press release pledging to work together with me and WeBuildTheWall on other projects we are working on along the border. It was all very friendly:
Everything was great but we continued to get calls from the media about comments made by IBWC PR Rep Lori Kuczmanski making materially false claims and violating the spirit of the cooperation we had made with top IBWC officials. We contacted the IBWC and they told us that they would talk to her and that she would be contacting the media who had quoted her and she would make corrections and retractions.
On Saturday, when we continued to get calls from reporters asking us to respond to new attacks from Kuczmanski, we asked her to stop. That’s when things got crazy!

She went on to call me and my team all kinds of childish names including libelous claims about me, Dustin, and WeBuildTheWall. Unfortunately for her, we’ve got all the proof and I dropped the BOOM on her!

Kolfage’s statement concludes with this assurance …
Our lawyers have been in touch with the IBWC and have assured us that Kuczmanski’s comments to the media and on Twitter DO NOT REPRESENT how they want to proceed with us. We expect that this rogue actor will be looking for work come Monday morning. That’s good, because our other projects will be much easier with the cooperation of the IBWC.
