President Donald Trump’s frustration with the mainstream media is understandable. They refuse to cover any of the good his administration does while giving endless hours of coverage to conspiracy theories about him.
They remain focused on the dead horse that is the Mueller report despite Trump taking major steps forward on issues like criminal justice reform and healthcare costs.

While the president has always been adversarial with the mainstream media, he seems to have reached a new boiling point these days.
On Saturday, Trump took to his Twitter account to say that the media is “totally out of control” and to suggest they “don’t even care anymore.”
“The Corrupt News Media is totally out of control,” Trump tweeted. “They have given up and don’t even care anymore.”
He then added, “Mainstream Media has ZERO CREDIBILITY — TOTAL LOSERS!”

Before posting that tweet, the president shared a clip from the Fox Business show “Lou Dobbs Tonight” that included Washington Times Opinion Editor Charlie Hunt praising Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign and his economic choices while in office.
“On the issues, like the economy, Trump is doing spectacularly,” Hunt said.

Hunt acknowledged that the 2016 presidential election was “unusual,” but he says Americans voted for Trump because they agreed with his positions on the major issues facing the country.
“The bottom line, at the end of the day, that election was about issues,” Hunt said, “and Donald Trump was right on all of the issues, the important issues, including the economy. Hillary Clinton and the Democrats were wrong.”

Trump had also talked about America’s booming economy earlier in the day and warned of a “market crash” if a Democrat claims office in 2020 — a very unlikely scenario considering the gaggle of sad sacks running against him.
“The Trump Economy is setting records, and has a long way up to go….However, if anyone but me takes over in 2020 (I know the competition very well), there will be a Market Crash the likes of which has not been seen before! KEEP AMERICA GREAT,” Trump tweeted.

In the Fox Business clip, Hunt made simple points and the economy is undeniably healthier than it has been in years, but everything is a nonissue to Democrats and Trump haters unless it is the big nothing burger of the Mueller report.
While critics will dismiss Trump’s media attacks as him just lashing out, he is bringing attention to an issue that too few take seriously.
Take Saturday as an example. Before Trump sent out his attack, The New York Times published a story claiming an anonymous government official had confirmed to them that the administration delayed the release of the Harriett Tubman 20 dollar bill for political reasons.
Monica Crowley, Senior Advisor for Public Affairs to the Secretary of the Treasury, put out a public response to the story calling the entire foundation of the story “completely erroneous.”
“The suggestion that the process is being delayed is completely erroneous,” she said through her public statement.
