Within minutes of now former special counsel Robert Mueller making his first and last public remarks on his two year, $30+ million investigation of Russian collusion, President Donald Trump has declared the case closed.
Citing what’s a foreign concept for the Democratic Party, that being due process and the presumption of innocence, the president took to Twitter to say: “Nothing changes from the Mueller Report. There was insufficient evidence and therefore, in our Country, a person is innocent. The case is closed! Thank you.”

Speaking from the Justice Department, Mueller spoke of not being able to indict a sitting president with a federal crime and said they did not make a determination in that regard because the law doesn’t allow him to accuse the commander in chief of a crime even in a private report.
Sarah Sanders released the following statement shortly after President Trump.

“That is unconstitutional,” Mueller said. “It was bound by that department policy.”
But he stopped short of declaring Trump innocent.
“If we had confidence that the president did not commit a crime we would have said so,” Mueller stressed. “We did not, however, make a determination as to whether the president did commit a crime.”
This being in reference to obstruction of justice, as Mueller’s report, said that they did not find any evidence of collusion with Russia.
As for the possibility of testifying before Congress, Mueller said, “The report is my testimony.”
Rep. Jerry Nadler, D-N.Y., chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, one of five House panels currently investigating Trump, has reportedly been in negotiations with Mueller on attending a hearing.
“There has been discussion about an appearance before Congress,” Mueller said on Wednesday. “Any testimony from this office would not go beyond our report. It contains our findings and analysis and the reasons for the decisions we made. We chose those words carefully and the work speaks for itself. And the report is my testimony. I would not provide information beyond that which is already public in any appearance before Congress.”
This prompted many responses that effectively shut down the Democratic Party in its efforts to continue investigating Trump — not that this will stop their obsession with impeaching the president.
Mueller saying he won’t testify before Congress because his report speaks for itself and there’s nothing more to add is about the worst-possible scenario for House Democrats alleging a coverup.

Robert Mueller breaks his silence and reiterates what he already said in his report. Big question remains whether House Democrats are dumb enough to impeach Trump, which he clearly hopes happens, because it aids his 2020 re-election efforts.

Mueller pointedly did not criticize AG Barr over their disagreements about his initial letter. In the end, Barr made the report public, and Mueller thanked him for that.

After 675 days, $35 million, 500 search warrants and 2,800 subpoenas, the Mueller report debunked Democrats’ lies about @realDonaldTrump-Russia collusion.
Democrats will try their best to drag this out, but the American people – and Mueller himself – want them to move on.

In Wednesday’s statement, Mueller announced that he is formally closing the special counsel’s office and resigning his position to return to private life.
“Our investigation is complete,” he stated.
Now, if America can only assure Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the radical elements of her Democratic caucus get the memo.
