The anti-Trump cabal, right and left, were in a collective uproar over a tweet from President Donald Trump on North Korea firing off missiles and an editorial from the official Korean Central News Agency calling former Vice President Joe Biden a “fool of low IQ.”
The president began a state visit to Japan on Sunday and has his critics all atwitter in downplaying the missile tests, while National Security Adviser John Bolton called it a violation of UN resolutions.
Making matters worse, Trump mocked the slight directed at “Swampman Joe Biden,” as the president labeled the 2020 Democratic presidential candidate — misspelling his name in an earlier tweet that was deleted and replaced with the proper spelling.
“North Korea fired off some small weapons, which disturbed some of my people, and others, but not me. I have confidence that Chairman Kim will keep his promise to me, & also smiled when he called Swampman Joe Biden a low IQ individual, & worse. Perhaps that’s sending me a signal?”
If the misspelling of Biden’s name didn’t sufficiently whip the TDS crowd into a full and proper frenzy, kicking things off in Japan by playing a round of golf with Prime Minister Shinzo Abe was sure to do the trick.
Never mind that even a casual observer could anticipate that the tweet was likely a diplomatic overture toward the North Korean dictator to keep alive ongoing talks on nuclear disarmament, while having a little fun at Biden’s expense.
As for who poses a greater risk to America’s interests, as Trump’s critics bemoaned, Biden’s failed policy initiatives, should he be elected president in 2020, stand to negatively impact the average American family long before actions by Kim Jong Un.
But don’t try telling “principled” anti-Trump conservatives like Bill Kristol and David French, who were busy getting there hate on.
Trump reports that he smiles when a brutal totalitarian dictator, with American blood on his hands, mocks the recent vice president of the United States. Who is and isn't loyal to this country? https://t.co/SY998VgjRQ

Trump — better pals with Kim Jong Un than Joe Biden.
I'm not sure that's the campaign pitch he thinks it is. https://t.co/bvNpRtOs1P

And leave it to CNN to roll out a retired general to cast aspersions in the president’s direction — after all, the goal is to draw questions about whether Trump is a fitting commander in chief.
When asked by anchor S.E. Cupp, another “principled” conservatives who oppose Trump, for his thoughts, retired Gen. Mark Hertling replied, “Yeah, I don’t know.”
“To be honest with you there are so many things he says versus being placed in a situation where he has to actually act, I’m not even sure what that means,” Hertling added, before implying that the president’s strategies and goals are a mystery.
And there you have it, the desired sound byte captured, as Cupp shrugs her shoulders in agreement.
One tweet from President Trump that did not garner as much attention and analysis was on the “great progress” in trade negotiations with Japan — after all, we can’t have any positive reporting on this president.
“Great progress being made in our Trade Negotiations with Japan. Agriculture and beef heavily in play. Much will wait until after their July elections where I anticipate big numbers!” Trump tweeted.
It’s hard to summon any fear-mongering from a tweet like that, not when you can talk about how the world is going to end on Trump’s watch!
“And this is how the world ends, ‘disturbing some of my people, and others, but not me,” tweeted Ana Marie Cox, the recent senior political correspondent for MTV News — seriously.

Here’s more examples of the collective outrage from Twitter:
The President holds the authority to launch nearly 1500 strategic nuclear weapons at will. And Republicans will say nothing, because abortion and judges and socialism and "well, it's just how he talks," when they'd storm the White House if this was anyone else. https://t.co/8p2coZ71We

We make jokes and laugh but just pause and reflect at how Trump has diminished the Presidency. The bar is so low for him. Compare him to Obama. Economic anxiety is a helluva drug. https://t.co/CQtwRtEX4J

Trump reposts his tweet to correct the spelling of "Biden." He repeats his boast that Kim is his ally in a joint attack on a fellow American.
Trump is a traitor. He repeatedly sides with dictators (Putin, Kim, MBS, Erdogan, Xi) against his domestic rivals and US intel agencies. https://t.co/UQSi8sZg9M

This tweet is just as disturbing as it was before even with the spelling correction.
This man is unwell.

You are straight up a traitor. You praise a genocidal madman who is firing off ballistic missiles and believe a dictator over the hard working patriots of the USA. You mention low IQ, yet you are such a staggering idiot, that you cannot even spell Biden.

For others, forget about the world ending, Trump misspelled (typo?) Biden’s name!
When you're trying hard to portray somebody else as dumb but cannot even manage to spell their name correctly. https://t.co/PLYd5bFu5R

Also tell trump it’s BIDEN, not Bidan… https://t.co/MKjnU1fSFF
