According to local officials in Florida, President Donald Trump’s administration plans to begin flying large groups of illegal aliens into two of the state’s most Democrat counties sometime soon to alleviate crowding along the detention facilities along the southern U.S. border.
“Broward Mayor Mark Bogen and Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw said they were told to expect two planeloads of immigrants each week, starting in about two weeks,” the Sun-Sentinel reported Thursday. “The 270 weekly passengers — about 1,000 each month — would be split, with half going to Palm Beach County and half to Broward.”

While both are reportedly longtime Democrat strongholds, it should be noted that Palm Beach is home to the president’s Mar-a-Lago resort, where he spends a considerable amount of his time.
These plans have reportedly not yet been confirmed by any administration officials. Moreover, Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis only just learned about them Thursday, after which his office issued a statement complaining about a lack of available resources.
“The governor’s office was not informed of this decision. Florida counties do not have the resources to accommodate an influx of illegal immigrants,” the mayor’s spokesperson said in a statement.
Florida Sen. Marco Rubio likewise submitted a letter to Acting Homeland Security Secretary Kevin McAlleenan demanding to know more details about the plan:

Speaking during a presser Thursday afternoon, Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw issued a stern statement blasting the plan as a “danger” to the community.
“Our resources are already stretched in this community,” he said. “We’re dealing with Hepatitis A outbreak, we’re dealing with measles outbreaks. So to take this type of influx of illegal immigrants from another location and to bring them to Palm Beach County is not only a public safety problem.”
“Because we don’t what know the backgrounds on these people are. We don’t know what documentation the Border Patrol has to identify who they are or what their criminal background is, if any, and they’re just going to walk into the community. It’s not a good plan. We think it’s a danger to this community and it’s going to put a real strain on what the resources are.”

Some local officials, including those who’ve previously pushed for sanctuary city policies, believe this plan is essentially political retribution by the president.
“I believe it’s purely political — the president has made it clear that he is targeting Democratic stronghold areas, and Broward fits that criteria,” state Rep. Shevrin Jones reportedly said.
“The blatant politics, sending them to the two most Democratic Counties in the state of Florida, is ridiculous,” state Sen. Gary Farmer reportedly added. “You can’t make this stuff up.”
You can make up false allegations, however. The fact remains that flooding Broward County and Palm Beach County would directly affect the president, given as his resort is situated there.
“He has been threatening this for a while, and I’m sure his voters will think it’s a great idea,” state Rep. Evan Jenne complained. “We will do what we can to help them, I’m sure with no help from the federal government.”
The president has admittedly threatened to funnel illegal aliens family into sanctuary jurisdictions, but neither Broward County nor Palm Beach County fits that designation.
During the same presser where Sheriff Bradshaw spoke Thursday, Palm Beach County Mayor Mack Bernard claimed that Florida may need to declare a state of emergency.
“If so many people are coming to Palm Beach County we may have to declare a State of Emergency, because it would spread out resources thin,” he said.

What’s interesting about his statement is that his logic is the same that the president applied when he declared a national emergency earlier this year to address the growing border crisis. Bernard’s peers in the national Congress responded at the time by trying repeatedly to overturn it.
In his own statement, Broward County Mayor Mark Bogen, also a Democrat, suggested that Trump consider housing some of the illegals in his own hotels.
“In my opinion, the people that we can’t find shelter for and will become homeless, I would suggest that we bring them to the Trump hotels and ask the President to open his heart and home as well,” he said.

Yes, but to be fair, the president isn’t the one whose party has been pushing to undermine America’s federal immigration laws and prevent immigration authorities from performing their work.
**Update: President Trump tweeted Friday morning that illegal immigrants shouldn’t “get too comfortable” as they will be leaving soon.

The president didn’t mention it directly but is likely referring to the “Insurrection Act” which the administration is floating. The controversial act would essentially root out and boot illegal aliens from the U.S.
