It has been said that America has lost its sense of humor and a tweet Saturday from Jerry Falwell Jr. is the latest evidence that this is a true assessment.
That President Donald Trump would retweet the post, sending those who hang on his every word and action into a tizzy, only confirmed the obvious.
Falwell, president of Liberty University, made a sarcastic remark about reparations and the Russian collusion illusion, saying Trump is owed 2 additional years “for time stolen by this corrupt failed coup.”
“After the best week ever for @realDonaldTrump – no obstruction, no collusion, NYT admits @BarackObama did spy on his campaign, & the economy is soaring,” tweeted Farwell. “I now support reparations-Trump should have 2 yrs added to his 1st term as pay back for time stolen by this corrupt failed coup.”

With a keen eye for what riles up his haters, the troller in chief posted his own tweet on Sunday acknowledging that two years of his presidency have been “stolen.”
“The Witch Hunt is over but we will never forget. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!” he concluded.

But that retweet of a joke about having two more years added on to his first term was heavy on the mind of the Trump-hating media.
New York Times White House correspondent Maggie Haberman alerted the masses on Twitter.
POTUS just RTed this, which suggests his term should be extended by two years. https://t.co/xiM2Ubu3je

Never mind that if the two years were somehow miraculously added, that it would forever throw off the presidential election cycle.
But Democrats and anti-Trump forces pushed all in, taking fear-mongering to whole new levels.
The Democratic Coalition, which takes credit for running the “Resistance,” tweeted: “Many now fear Trump will not go going quietly if he loses in 2020.”
Trump floated the idea of extending his constitutionally limited time in office — complaining online that two years of his first term were “stollen” as a result of Mueller’s probe. Many now fear Trump will not go going quietly if he loses in 2020.https://t.co/LlpbYXk4iw

And the mouth-breathing Kool-Aid drinkers were on board.
Anyone who does not take this seriously is naive. Trump has no intention of ending his Presidency in 2020. https://t.co/negOvUeDb7

Trump just retweeted his friend’s tweet calling for Trump to get 2 extra years added to his presidency. This is Trump raising this so his base is on board with it. Lets be blunt: Trump will never leave the White House peacefully. It’s time as a nation we understand that

“Yes, Let’s Defeat or Impeach Donald Trump. But What If He Refuses to Leave the White House”
In light of Pelosi’s remarks and now Trump retweeting Falwell calling for 2 more years for him, re-upping this March piece of mine. Don’t say you weren’t warned: https://t.co/tWmPv2lhTk

Trump is a wannabe authoritarian. Anyone who thinks he will leave the White House peacefully has not been paying attention.

Of course, Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., is doing her part to drive that ridiculous notion, given how the Democratic Party’s low information base laps it up.
Speaking to the New York Times last week, Pelosi talked about being worried that Trump would not give up power voluntarily if he lost his reelection by a slim margin.
“We have to inoculate against that, we have to be prepared for that,” said the woman second in the line of succession to being president of the United States.
But, again, Falwell was not being serious. Clearly.
If you don't get that it's a joke, you are a joke. https://t.co/6XsdbQr4nv

This is a super-serious take we should take seriously. https://t.co/Mxq1g9hRn9

And leave it to Trump supporter Lou Dobbs, of the Fox Business Network, to throw gas on a raging liberal outrage storm by suggesting “treble damages,” which mean six more years!
Don't forget to add treble damages…that should add another six years to President Trump's second term! #MAGA #AmericaFirst #Dobbs https://t.co/h4B0s9YDit
