Secretary of State Mike Pompeo held nothing back Sunday morning as he verbally slapped Fox News host Chris Wallace around like a large trout for his obsession with Russia, Russia, Russia.
During the heated discussion on “Fox News Sunday,” Wallace complained about President Donald Trump’s call last week with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
According to the FNC host, Trump should have used the opportunity to question the Russian leader about alleged Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.
“The Mueller report that came out completely cleared the president when it comes to collusion with the Russians in the 2016 election,” he said. “As for the Kremlin, however, it said this: ‘The Russian government interfered in the 2016 presidential election in sweeping and systematic fashion.'”
“But here’s how President Trump described his talk with Putin on Friday about 2016 and about possible meddling in 2020. Take a look,” he added before playing the following clip:
The clip showed the president telling the media he’d chosen to not discuss election interference with Putin. Other issues, such as nuclear arms control and the violence in Venezuela, came up instead.
“Why doesn’t the president get tough with Putin about what everyone seems to agree is clear — meddling in 2016 and the threat of meddling in 2020?” Wallace then asked.
“Chris,” Pompeo replied in exasperation, “this administration has been tougher on Russia than any of its predecessor administrations. I could go through the list but there’s not time in the show to talk about all of the things we’ve done — largest defense build-up, the list is long.”

“And so for you to suggest that somehow we haven’t taken election interference seriously, we do. We continue to work on it. We continue to make sure that every election is as safe as it can possibly be … We take seriously the threat of election interference from every country, Russia included.”
“I guess what I’m asking — and I take your point because in terms of specific policies, the U.S.,” Wallace began to reply before Pompeo cut him off with clear-cut indignation.
“Chris, I don’t get your point,” he said. “I’m… I’m confused … I’m confused.”
“Well, let me make it,” Wallace interjected before being cut off again.
“You’re looking at an administration that has been tougher on Russia than any of its predecessors, and yet you continue to be fixated on something that Robert Mueller wrote down. I … I … I struggle with that,” the secretary of state noted.
Watch the smackdown below:
“I’m not fixated about Robert Mueller,” Wallace retorted. “I’m fixated on the president’s conversation with Vladimir Putin and the fact that in the conversation, he doesn’t even mention meddling in 2020. And the question I’m asking … is why not?” he asked.
“I talk to leaders all the time,” Pompeo replied. “We cover a broad range of subjects. Sometimes conversations just aren’t long enough to include every issue that might be brought up. I’ll let the White House talk to what the president actually said in the set of remarks.”
And then came the second zinger of the morning:
“But no one should misunderstand from your question today. Your viewers should not be misled. This administration has taken seriously the threat of election interference and will continue to do.”
If you believe it sounded as if Pompeo had accused Wallace of peddling fake news, you’re not alone. Nor is the secretary of state alone in believing that the FNC host is obsessed.
Wallace has long been accused of being a liberal commentator in disguise:
What a joy. You were schooled, Chris, on what the word “coup”
means plus that you are still “fixated” on Russia.

Secretary Pompeo is putting Chris Wallace in his place on Fox News Sunday. Wallace said Our President Trump is soft on Putin! Trump has been more tough on Putin than other past Presidents. I think Chris Wallace is more liberal than he is conservative.?

You have to give Fox news credit they get maligned for being skewed to the right but let their show hosts say want they want and they always have a opposing viewpoint on most of their shows. Even well known youtubers express dismay over the Truth that is told on Fox.

The latter user has a great point. What makes Fox News “fair and balanced” (unlike its competitors, including far-left CNN and even more far-left MSNBC) is its willingness to hire left-wing hosts and contributors like Chris Wallace, not to mention Shepard Smith.
That being said, given that most of FNC’s audience is conservative, it’s not surprising that the network’s audience rather enjoyed seeing Wallace be “Pompeoed” Sunday morning:
