Donald Trump blasts Democrats and media for impeachment talk after stock market hits all-time high

President Donald Trump is not happy with talks by Democrats about wanting him impeached, especially in light of Tuesday’s news that the stock market had hit a new high.

The S&P 500 and Nasdaq composite closed at record highs on Tuesday, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed just 1.1 percent below a new all-time high.

While the American economy continues to flex its growing muscles, an increasing number of Democrats have been entering a fantasy world where the Mueller report has something other than zero evidence of collusion — which was the entire point of the investigation when it kicked off over two years ago.

Trump responded to his critics on Tuesday evening after the stock market closed. The president was a tad sarcastic in his tweet, but also firm when it comes to his feelings about the Mueller report and the Democrats’ and media’s refusal to move on from it.

“You mean the Stock Market hit an all-time record high today and they’re actually talking impeachment!? Will I ever be given credit for anything by the Fake News Media or Radical Liberal Dems? NO COLLUSION!” tweeted the president.

Trump had tweeted about the economy’s success earlier on Tuesday as well.

“In the ‘old days’ if you were President and you had a good economy, you were basically immune from criticism. Remember, “It’s the economy stupid.” Today I have, as President, perhaps the greatest economy in history…and to the Mainstream Media, it means NOTHING. But it will!” he tweeted.

Despite Mueller’s investigation coming up with no real evidence of collusion, a handful of Democrats still want investigations into Trump to continue. Some even want to see the man impeached.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and others have come out in support of the impeachment of Donald Trump, while lawmakers like Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) have cautioned that “we’re not there yet.”

“I do believe that impeachment is one of the most divisive forces, paths that we could go down to in our country,” Pelosi told the press on Tuesday. “But if the facts, the path of fact-finding takes us there, we have no choice. But we’re not there yet.”

Hillary Clinton also warned against jumping too quickly into impeachment proceedings. She said while speaking at the Time 100 Summit on Tuesday that Congress should investigate Trump for obstruction of justice and if the investigation shows evidence of “high crimes,” then the president should be impeached.

Trump does not seem to be worried about impeachment. The release of the Mueller report was a big victory for him, even if Democrats have not been able to admit that as a whole quite yet.

Asked by the press if he was worried about impeachment this week at the White House Easter Egg Roll, Trump responded, “not even a little bit.”

He had previously addressed impeachment talks on Twitter by saying, “the tables are finally turning on the Witch Hunt!”

“Only high crimes and misdemeanors can lead to impeachment,” the president tweeted. “There were no crimes by me (No Collusion, No Obstruction), so you can’t impeach. It was the Democrats that committed the crimes, not your Republican President! Tables are finally turning on the Witch Hunt!”
