Numerous schools in and around the Denver area have temporarily cancelled all classes because of an ongoing threat by a Columbine High School massacre-obsessed woman from Florida who reportedly arrived in the area Monday and then proceeded to purchase a stash of weapons.
“An 18-year-old Florida woman ‘infatuated’ with the Columbine school shooting traveled to Colorado by plane Monday, purchased a shotgun and ammunition in Littleton and disappeared into the foothills of Jefferson County,” local station KMGH has confirmed.
An FBI-led manhunt for the woman, Sol Pais, is currently underway, and schools in the Denver area will presumably not reopen until she’s apprehended and made to account for her activities.
CBS local:
Law enforcement sources believe she took an Uber to the Echo Lake area near the base of Mount Evans. She was found dead several hundred feet past Echo Lake Lodge up Mount Evans Road near where the road is currently closed for the season.

According to KMGH, what prompted the manhunt were certain “undisclosed threats” Pais made. The nature of these threats remains unclear. All that’s known is that she’s considered armed and extremely dangerous. Anyone who sights her should call the FBI at 303-630-6227.
Pais lives in Surfside, Florida, with her father. Speaking with the media on Tuesday, he said he last saw his daughter on Sunday and described the ongoing ordeal as a “nightmare.”
The Columbine-obsessed woman’s neighbors meanwhile expressed shock at her behavior.
“She always was keeping to herself. She never got in trouble,” neighbor Patricia Bilstein, who worked at Bay Harbor Elementary and Middle School where Pais had been a student, said.
Listen:
Another neighbor said her children had attended Miami Beach High School with Pais.
Word of Pais’s arrival in the Denver area first spread around noon Tuesday.
“Shortly after noon on April 16, multiple Jefferson County School District schools were placed on lockout — meaning business as usual within buildings but all access in and out of school buildings is limited,” the Lakewood Sentinel reported.
“According to a press release by the school district, all affected schools were dismissed at the regular time. All after-school activities, sports and practices were still scheduled to occur, except for Columbine High School, where all such activities were canceled.”
The FBI and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department announced their manhunt for Pais around 3:00 pm. Roughly twelve hours later an announcement went out about classes being cancelled.
“In collaboration with other Denver-metro area school districts, all Jeffco Public Schools will be closed on Wednesday, April 17 due to the ongoing safety concern,” Jefferson County Public Schools announced on social media early Wednesday morning.
“All facilities and programs are closed for the day – no employees are to report. There will be no afternoon activities or athletic competitions. We will continue to keep families updated on this situation before the end of the day on Wednesday.”

It’s unclear whether the schools will remain closed if Pais isn’t apprehended.
It’s believed she arrived in the Denver area because Saturday will mark the Columbine High School massacre’s 20th anniversary. What remains unclear is the nature of her obsession with the deadly mass shooting and what exactly she has planned for its anniversary.
While the Columbine tragedy of 1999 wasn’t the first, it’d been the most horrific in American history. A stunning 13 innocent boys and girls were murdered during the ordeal.
Photos have emerged on social media that allegedly show Pais’s tattoos:
sol pais needs to be caught. I feel like there’s a lot more to the story. She has to know someone out here. Look at her disturbing tattoos. Most Colorado schools are closed tomorrow. I feel like this might be a bigger attack. Stay safe and be on alert ? pic.twitter.com/Ld5JfOLLyk

Though it hasn’t been confirmed whether these pics are legitimate, what’s notable is that the tattoos featured in them depict both the perpetrators of the Columbine massacre and the weapons they’d used.
Someone has also claimed to have found Pais’s personal website:
The website of Sol Pais is terrifying. She’s been planning for a while.https://t.co/Su2qCi7I4r#solpais #ColumbineHighSchool pic.twitter.com/vunym5r0IQ

Again, it’s unclear if these claims are legitimate.
