AOC goes after Jeanine Pirro for death threat against Rep Ilhan Omar in self-righteous throwdown

On Saturday socialist congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez took to Twitter to blame Fox News host Judge Jeanine Pirro for the actions of a deranged New York man who’d reportedly threatened to assault and murder Muslim congresswoman Ilhan Omar because of her Muslim faith.

“Understand when Jeanine Pirro goes on Fox + rallies people to think hijabs are threatening, it leads to this,” AOC tweeted. “Folks who imply we’re ‘bad’ for politics, the party, the country, etc. have no idea the threats we deal w/ because of that kind of language. Talk policy, not personal.”

To be clear, there’s no evidence to suggest Pirro’s rhetoric motivated the suspect, Patrick W. Carlineo.

According to CNN, late last month Carlineo phoned Omar’s Washington, D.C., office and said to a staff member, “Do you work for the Muslim Brotherhood? Why are you working for her? She’s a [curse word] terrorist. I’ll put a bullet in her [curse word] skull.”

He’s since been rightly arrested and charged. Nobody deserves to be threatened, period.

AOC’s sanctimony is a big part of why the discourse in America has grown so divisive. She’s automatically blaming Pirro for the threat based on the judge’s criticism of Omar’s faith. Last month she’d theorized that perhaps the congresswoman’s anti-Semitism is a product of her Islamic faith. This remark earned her a two-week suspension.

Moreover, she’s ignoring that such threats are not a one-sided phenomenon. Despite the media’s portrayal of an America rocked by anti-Muslim harassment, vandalism, assault, death threats, etc., there’s an abundance of evidence showing that other groups have faced the exact same circumstances.

Included among these other groups are proud supporters of President Donald Trump. Did you know that last week a far-left activist in California harassed and berated a 74-year-old man for wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat and vowed to stalk him and make his life miserable?

If you only read the news shared by the mainstream left-wing media, you’ve probably never heard of Rebecca Parker Mankey or her victim, Victor F. Nor have you likely heard about a bus driver who ripped a MAGA hat off a child’s head in rage or about two Trump supporters who were allegedly assaulted in Austin, Texas, for wearing MAGA hats while at a bar downtown.

This is important because AOC has a habit of demonizing conservative media and acting as if publishers such as Fox News and BizPac Review shouldn’t exist.

Note for instance what she retweeted Saturday:

The suggestion appears to be that Fox News inspires people to adopt “repugnant” beliefs.

Now think about what she wrote in her tweet Saturday: “Folks who imply we’re ‘bad’ for politics, the party, the country, etc. have no idea the threats we deal w/ because of that kind of language.”

But didn’t her retweet show her implying that Fox News is “bad” for politics?

Much like former President Barack Obama, she seems to believe only one set of “facts” should exist. The trouble with facts is how they’re presented to the audience. News outlets tend to portray the facts in a way that advances their agenda, be it a conservative agenda or liberal agenda. With the mainstream media, the agenda is invariably to the left, and that’s fine, but only so long as a conservative media is allowed to exist so that the public can also be made aware of those counter-facts which the left-wing media have chosen to ignore or downplay.

Granted, in this free for all of facts being thrown about like a dodgeball game, sometimes inappropriate remarks are made. But this insinuation by AOC that inappropriate and perhaps even dangerous remarks are only made by conservative media pundits is incredibly false and divisive. If nothing else, it only exacerbates the harmful “Crips vs Bloods” mentality that permeates the political realm.

HERE’S WHAT YOU’RE MISSING …

Here are just a few examples of the left-wing media also making inappropriate and hateful remarks:

“If you vote for Trump, you’re the bad guy. If you vote for Trump, you are ripping children from parents’ arms,” MSNBC commentator Donnie Deutsch said last year on “Morning Joe.”

Last year a columnist for The New York Times had this to say about Trump supporters: Maybe they’re just bad people.”

And during the Covington Catholic High School fray in January, numerous members of the media and the entertainment industry fantasized about hurting 16-year-old Nick Sandmann.

“The respected journalist Reza Aslan tweeted ‘Honest question. Have you ever seen a more punchable face than this kid’s?’ A writer for Saturday Night Live offered oral sex for anyone who managed to punch one of the kids in the face. Trevor Noah let these school kids know that not only did ‘everyone’ want to punch these boys out, but he did too,” Forbes noted at the time.

Isn’t this rhetoric divisive? Isn’t this rhetoric hateful? Couldn’t this rhetoric be blamed for the spate of harassment, vandalism and violence that Trump supporters across America have faced?

Yet there’s nothing but silence from Ocasio-Cortez and her ilk when it comes to such rhetoric. In her mind, it seems that one side can do no harm. It’s the good side. It’s the righteous side. It’s the side that needs to stay, while the other side — the evil side — should be silenced and shut down.

That doesn’t sound very fair, Miss Ocasio-Cortez. Mind you, maybe fairness and meaningful discourse isn’t what you’re looking for in the first place. Who knows …
