Ocasio-Cortez is trying to help Chelsea Manning get out of jail. Maybe she could get her facts straight first.

Former Army intelligence analyst Bradley Manning, who grew his hair long and now calls himself Chelsea, wants out of jail and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., is down with that.

The traitor formerly known as Bradley was convicted by court-martial in July 2013 of violations of the Espionage Act and was sentenced to 35 years in prison. In one of his final acts in office, former President Barack Obama commuted his sentence.

Manning was jailed again in March for civil contempt after refusing to testify before a grand jury investigating WikiLeaks.

At the time, Manning told U.S. District Judge Claude Hilton he “will accept whatever you bring upon me.”

Well, that tolerance has met its expiration date less than a month later and Manning wants to be released as the judge’s order is appealed and to not be required to testify, the New York Post reported.

The progressive zealot riding to his rescue this time around is the Bronx Bolshevik, Ocasio-Cortez, who said in a tweet that Manning is being “tortured” by being held in solitary confinement.

And not only does she want him to be released, Ocasio-Cortez wants to ban solitary confinement in the U.S.

“Related: Chelsea Manning has been trapped in solitary confinement for refusing to answer questions before a Grand Jury. Solitary confinement is torture. Chelsea is being tortured for whistleblowing, she should be released on bail, and we should ban extended solitary in the US.” she tweeted.

Of course, Manning cannot be “whistleblowing,” as the democratic socialist states, if he’s refusing to testify.

And it doesn’t take much effort to realize that Manning is in solitary confinement for his own safety and would have almost certainly requested it had he not been placed there.

Also, journalist Ryan Saavedra cites the sheriff where Manning is held, who says the term is admin segregation, not solitary confinement and inmates “still have access to social visits, books, recreation, and break time outside their cells.”

Manning’s lawyers argue that any new testimony would be consistent with what their client told a court-martial in 2013 and that no amount of jail time would compel her to cooperate in the probe of more than 700,000 classified documents connected to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan that Manning gave WikiLeaks in 2010, according to The Post.

“While she will certainly exhaust her legal avenues in order to legally justify her decision not to cooperate, her continued noncooperation is a foregone conclusion, regardless of the legal outcomes,” his attorneys said in court documents, opting to use female pronouns to describe Manning.

They also cite unique “health needs” to suggest that it may be “impossible for them to confine her in a manner that does not constitute punishment.”

It is certain that Ocasio-Cortez knows how to identify lighting rod issues that ensure plenty of attention, as she took heat from all sides, including some of her own.
