Actress Jamie Lee Curtis wants apology from Joe Biden; 2020 hopefuls weigh in on his unwanted kissing, touching

Former Vice President Joe Biden is finding out quickly his presidential ambitions have a whole different hurdle to jump in today’s #MeToo age.

Biden gets it that in post-Obama America, being a white male is akin to being sinful and requires frequent groveling before the Democratic Party’s hard-left progressive base. He also understands he has some atoning to do for his role in the confirmation hearings for Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, where Anita Hill’s credibility was challenged after she accused the jurist of sexual harassment.

And while Biden tried to cross the task off his to-do list last week, actress Jamie Lee Curtis raised the bar in a tweet calling for a face-to-face apology some 27 years later.

“Come on @JoeBiden,” Curtis tweeted. “Just CALL Anita Hill and then GO TO HER HOUSE and APOLOGIZE to her FACE. The longer you wait the worse it gets.

Biden was chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee during a dramatic confrontation between Hill and Thomas, after Democrats brought forth the last-minute accusation in an attempt to derail his confirmation — sound familiar?

At this hearing, while looking directly at Biden, Thomas famously declared that the “sleaze” being hurled at him was “a high-tech lynching for uppity blacks.”

“To this day, I regret I couldn’t give her the kind of hearing she deserved,” Biden said Tuesday night in New York City at the Biden Courage Awards, according to Vox.

“She faced a committee that didn’t fully understand what the hell this was all about,” he added.

“I wish I could have done something — I opposed Clarence Thomas’ nomination, and I voted against him,” Biden would go on to explain. “But I also realized that there was a real and perceived problem the committee faced: There were a bunch of white guys.”

Of course, this isn’t the only problem Biden is facing.

On Friday, former Nevada Assemblywoman Lucy Flores accused Biden of kissing her inappropriately while campaigning for her in 2014.

In an essay run in New York Magazine, Flores was very descriptive of the alleged incident, saying it made her “feel uneasy, gross, and confused.”

“I thought to myself, ‘I didn’t wash my hair today and the vice-president of the United States is smelling it,” she wrote. “And also, what in the actual fuck? Why is the vice-president of the United States smelling my hair?’ He proceeded to plant a big slow kiss on the back of my head. My brain couldn’t process what was happening. I was embarrassed. I was shocked.”

“I couldn’t move and I couldn’t say anything. I wanted nothing more than to get Biden away from me,” Flores continued.

Remarkably, or not, CNN and MSNBC were slow in covering the troubling claim, according to The Daily Caller, which reported that a review of on-air coverage via Grabien turned up nothing in the first 12 hours after the essay ran.

Henry Munoz, the organizer of the Nevada campaign rally, issued a statement that cast shade on Flores’ claim, The Hill reported.

“I have thoroughly reviewed photographic documentation from the event, and spoken to nearly every principle in attendance, as well as staff associated with the event,” the statement said. “To the best of our recollection, at no time were Lucy Flores and Vice President Biden alone.”

While Biden has yet to officially declare his presidential run, polls are showing him as a front-runner and some of his potential Democratic competition were quick to jump on the Flores story to say they believe her, to include Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., and former HUD Secretary Julián Castro.

The Hill added that a Biden spokesman said neither the former vice president nor his staff recalled the events described by Flores, but stressed that Biden believes she has a right to share her recollection.

All of which shows that Biden is quickly learning the new grounds of the radically left Democratic Party.
