What are the odds?
The largest college admissions cheating scam ever prosecuted by the Department of Justice was announced this week and the nationwide scandal included some of the most elite schools in America, to include Yale, Georgetown and Stanford.
And with Georgetown being located in Washington, D.C., ties to politicians are to be expected — to include the Obamas.
Among the rich hypocrites caught up in the scam were actresses Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin, as parents paid up to $6.5 million to have their children enrolled in top universities.
The process involved parents going through a middle man to pay to secure college admission for their kids who would otherwise not be accepted. The money would be directed to an SAT or ACT administrator or a college athletic coach who would fake a profile for the prospective student — regardless of their athletic ability, according to the charging documents, Fox News reported.
One of the coaches busted was Gordon Ernst, the former tennis coach at Georgetown University, who was also the personal tennis instructor for former first lady Michelle Obama and her daughters, Sasha and Malia, according to the Providence Journal.
Ernst, 52, allegedly accepted more than $2.7 million in bribes to place at least a dozen students on the Georgetown tennis team, including some who didn’t play competitive tennis, according to the New York Post.
The bribes were allegedly directed to Ernst, who is accused of conspiracy to commit racketeering, through charitable accounts set up by the admitted mastermind of the scandal, crooked college counselor William “Rick” Singer, The Post reported.
Ernst was reportedly fired from Georgetown in 2018, and hired by the University of Rhode Island. The school placed him on administrative leave Tuesday.
The Post also noted that there’s nothing to indicate that Malia Obama, a sophomore at Harvard, was implicated in the scam in any way.
Not that it’s been a good week for Michelle Obama, as it was revealed that her former chief of staff intervened in the investigation of disgraced actor Jussie Smollett, who is charged with faking a hate crime against himself.

In was considered inordinately sketchy by many, Tina Tchen, who served under the former first lady from 2011 to 2017, contacted Chicago’s top prosecutor, Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx and requested that she ask Chicago authorities to transfer the case to the FBI.
“I wanted to give you a call on behalf of Jussie Smollett and family who I know. They have concerns about the investigation,” Tchen said to Foxx in a text message
