Tom Steyer, a left-wing hedge fund manager whose wealth places him among the .01 percent, is so dead set on forcing Congress to impeach President Donald Trump for non-existent crimes that he’s reportedly now buying ads targeting Republicans on the House Oversight and Reform Committee.
Whereas Steyer’s previous efforts via his Need to Impeach PAC focused on holding “impeach Trump” town hall meetings for top Democrat members of the House Ways and Means, Oversight and Judiciary committees, his new efforts reportedly involve ad buys in campaign districts held specifically by Republican congressmen Jim Jordan and Mark Meadows.
Steyer could up the ad buy to seven figures over the next few weeks. Similar ad used against Meadows and Jordan will run in Ariz. & Colo.

A copy of one ad has appeared on Tom Steyer’s YouTube page.
“When the history of the Trump presidency is written, members of Congress will be sorted into two categories: The ones who let politics scare them out of holding Trump accountable and those who had the courage to stand up and defend our Democracy,” a narrator bellows as images of Jordan and Sen. Lindsey Graham flash across the screen.
Meadows can be seen later standing among a group of congressional Republicans. It’s unclear why an ad designed to hurt Jordan and Meadows seems to focus more-so on Jordan and Graham.
Watch the ad below:
“The ad will air in Ohio’s 4th Congressional District, represented by Rep. Jim Jordan (R), and North Carolina’s 11th Congressional District, represented by Rep. Mark Meadows (R),” The Hill reported. “The two House Freedom Caucus leaders are among the president’s staunchest allies and were central figures in last week’s House Oversight and Reform Committee hearing with former Trump attorney Michael Cohen.”
The two were the only ones willing to hold convicted felon and known liar Michael Cohen accountable for his endless lies. Besides peppering him with questions during his testimony to the House Oversight Committee last week, the two also submitted a letter to Attorney General William Barr accusing Cohen of committing perjury by knowingly making false statements to Congress.

Democrats such as Steyer took offense to their tough approach toward Cohen because to them he’s some sort of hero, apparently. Why? Because he might help them take down the president.
“I think Republicans need to understand that it’s not OK to lie, cheat and steal in the United States of America,” Need to Impeach’s lead strategist said to The Hill. “Republicans that are looking the other way as Donald Trump does those three things are now part of the cover-up.”
Except the liar and cheater is Michael Cohen, not the president …
While it’s true Cohen made a series of sensational allegations about the president, including the claim that his former boss once used his charity for personal profit, his history of lies — including the lies he told during the hearing itself — make it clear that he isn’t a trustworthy figure.
And yet Democrats have lined up behind him …
Steyer is also a big believer in the unproven conspiracy theory that Trump colluded with Russian operatives to affect the outcome of the 2016 presidential election. Yet even the billionaire’s newfound hero admitted to Congress last week that he had no “direct evidence” of collusion.
In response to the Steyer’s ad buy, Jordan noted the same thing on Twitter:
The citizens of OH-04 appreciate that President Trump is fighting for them and does what he says.
There is zero evidence of any collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.
— Rep. Jim Jordan (@Jim_Jordan) March 5, 2019
What’s stunning is that Steyer’s team really thinks the ad buy will work.
“It’s important to note that we’re focusing on Republican voters in Republican districts. In some ways it’s less about the actual members and more about the voters. We’re basing the imagery, the wording and the call to action on testing we’ve done in these districts,” Mack said.
Except the vast majority of Republicans stand behind the president and view special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russian collusion investigation as a “witch hunt,” according to polls.
The president has come to Jordan and Meadows’ defense:
Weirdo Tom Steyer doesn’t have the “guts” or money to run for President. He’s all talk! https://t.co/klmVsCmeNE
