Cartels ‘recycling’ kids, pregnancy tests for 10-yr-old girls: Sec Nieslen reveals ‘devastating’ state of the border

The crisis along the southern U.S. border whose existence the Democrats continue to deny is so out of control that traffickers are “recycling” children to smuggle illegal aliens into the U.S.

“We have encountered recycling rings, where innocent young people are used multiple times to help aliens gain illegal entry,” Home Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen revealed Wednesday at a House Homeland Security Committee hearing.

Such “recycling” operations are possible in part because of a disastrous omnibus spending bill signed into law last month that empowers human traffickers like never before in American history.

Section 224(a) of the bill specifically says that none of the money allocated to the Department of Homeland Security may be used to detain or deport “a sponsor, potential sponsor, or member of a household of a sponsor or potential sponsor of an unaccompanied alien child.”

In other words, any migrant who crosses the border illegally with a child in stow cannot be touched by DHS and its sub-agencies, including U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

The only limiting factor therefore for illegal aliens hoping to sidle into the U.S. is children. Traffickers — most of them presumably linked to Central America’s dangerous cartels — have taken advantage of this by essentially leasing innocent children to illegal aliens.

“Today’s migrant flows have created a humanitarian catastrophe,” Nielsen continued. “In one study, more than 30 percent of women reported sexual assault along the way and 70 percent of all migrants reported experiencing violence.”

“Smugglers and traffickers are forcing migrants into inhumane conditions, demanding extraordinary sums of money and putting their lives in danger. And vulnerable populations — especially children — are coming into DHS sicker than ever before.”

As horrific as that sounds, it was just the tip of the iceberg.

During another portion of the hearing, the DHS secretary revealed that the abuse faced by illegal alien children is so severe that kids as young as 11 are being given pregnancy tests upon their apprehension by border agents.

“Very unfortunately, because of the increase in violence, at ICE, when we have families with children, we have to give every girl a pregnancy test over 10,” she said.

Part of the problem, she added, is that because of certain laws, ICE may not return illegal alien children from countries other than Mexico or Canada to their home countries.

This, therefore, creates even more incentive for illegal alien parents — or at least those not from Mexico or Canada — to place their children into the hands of smugglers.

“We don’t want the smugglers to be able to convince parents to send their children on this perilous journey where they are absolutely victims of violence and abused. … This is not a safe journey. So, I ask again that we change the law, we treat all children the same, and we afford them the opportunity to go back home if they have now legal right to be in the United States,” she said.

Unfortunately, the crisis continues to worsen, with DHS expecting roughly up to a million illegal aliens to attempt a border crossing this year alone.

“In February, we saw a 30 percent jump over the previous month, with agents apprehending or encountering nearly 75,000 aliens,” Nielsen said Wednesday. “This is an 80 percent increase over the same time last year. And I can report today that CBP is forecasting the problem will get even worse this spring as the weather warms up.”

“We want to strengthen legal immigration and welcome more individuals through a merit-based system that enhances our economic vitality and the vibrancy of our diverse nation. We also will continue to uphold our humanitarian ideals. But illegal immigration is simply spiraling out of control and threatening public safety and national security.”

Nearly everybody now recognizes this, including those in the left-wing media. The only ones still in denial are congressional Democrats, who last week passed a resolution in the House to terminate President Donald Trump’s national emergency.

While most Republicans in the GOP-led Senate have vowed to block the resolution, a few have vowed to support it, including Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul, albeit not because they don’t recognize the existence of a crisis — but rather because of their concerns over executive overreach.

“I can’t vote to give extraconstitutional powers to the President,” Paul said over the weekend. “I can’t vote to give the President the power to spend money that hasn’t been appropriated by Congress,” he continued. “We may want more money for border security, but Congress didn’t authorize it. If we take away those checks and balances, it’s a dangerous thing.”

That’s not a bad point, though it should be kept in mind that congressional Democrats have repeatedly stymied the president’s attempts to secure the border and halt the ongoing crisis.

So with women and children being abused daily along the border and the Democrats making it clear that they don’t care, as noted by social media, it’s unclear how Paul expects Trump to resolve the crisis without using his executive powers:
