Longtime Senate veteran Dianne Feinstein apparently hates the so-called “Green New Deal” so much that she lashed out when a group of elementary school-aged children confronted her about it at her San Francisco office Friday afternoon and demanded that she support it.
A stunning video recording of the altercation shows the group of young tots — all of them reportedly activists with the radically far-left Sunrise Movement — telling Feinstein that they want her to vote “yes” on socialist congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s insane “Green New Deal.”
Watch what happens next below:
“Ok, I’ll tell you what,” the senator replies. “We have our own ‘Green New Deal.'”
Released Friday, Feinstein’s proposal is far less ambitious but significantly more realistic than AOC’s GND, which as a reminder calls for banning air travel, combustion-engine vehicles, nuclear energy, fossil fuel energy, meat, cow farts, etc. Why? To stave off imminent doom. Ocasio-Cortez believes the world will end in 12 years because of climate change. So do her young, brainwashed acolytes.
“Some scientists have said that we have 12 years to turn this around,” one of the kids complains.
Wrong. No legitimate scientist has said the world will end in 12 years. Only so-called “scientists” affiliated with the corrupt, fraudulent U.N. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change have spouted such nonsense. But you can’t blame the children for believing such lies. They’re children, after all.
“Well, it’s not going to get turned around in 10 years. What we can do is put ourselves …” Feinstein tries to reply, only to get cut off by one of the kids’ adult supervisors.
“Senator, if this doesn’t get turned around in 10 years, you’re looking at the faces of the people who are going to be living with these consequences,” the supervisor says.
And there it is — the person to blame for the kids’ brainwashing.
“The government is supposed to be for the people, and by the people, and all for the people,” one of the kids then jumps in.
True, but the law forbids children from voting. Why? Because most adults — except for the ones who’re insane — realize that kids need to grow up before they’re granted the right to vote.
It’s at this point that the senator loses her temper and lashes out at the kids.
“You know what’s interesting about this group?” she says. “Is I’ve been doing this for 30 years. I know what I’m doing. You come in here, and you say it has to be my way or the highway. I don’t respond to that. I’ve gotten elected. I just ran. I was elected by almost a million vote plurality. And I know what I’m doing. So, you know, maybe people should listen a little bit.”
Ouch. Was that tone really necessary? It depends on who you ask. Some believe Feinstein reacted properly by giving the indoctrinated children a much-needed reality check:
Don’t use kids as political props if they aren’t capable of receiving criticism, oh wait… That’s why these socialists used kids for their political game, to escape criticism. The adults who put the children up to this are to blame, not Feinstein for giving them a reality check. https://t.co/eholVNdvkr

Good for Dianne Feinstein, kids and some adults need a reality check. This isn’t Burger King you don’t always get it your way. LoL https://t.co/b7wwd6vkTd

Senator Feinstein was giving them a reality check, something that they should received from their teacher. Instead, they are being fed talking points and used as pawns in a political battle that they don’t really understand. I thought the senator was respectful and candid.

These kids have obviously been coached by their wishy-washy teacher to spout canned “save the children” nonsense. I’m glad Feinstein gave them a reality check.

Others argue that while Feinstein’s points were correct, she didn’t need to be so rough with the kids:
I don’t support the GND & I don’t like Feinstein. I also don’t agree with using brainwashed kids for political purposes. But regardless of those kids age, they are still citizens & future voters. Feinstein was right about the legislation, but could have had more tact & grace.

Sen. Feinstein has the right to voice her opinion as everyone should, but speaking with that attitude towards children is quite problematic. The genesis is that things take time and caution, but I was expecting a more generic response that adults give to annoying children lol

Feinstein’s a moderate. I like moderates just as much as progressives, because the last thing we need is an echo chamber.
What I don’t like is disrespect and rudeness towards well-meaning people. These are children, Dianne. Have some tact. Don’t make me regret supporting you.

And then there’s the last group of people — adults so misinformed or just willfully ignorant that they too believe the world faces imminent doom and are therefore irate with Feinstein for not taking the non-existent threat of Armageddon seriously.
Look:
Wow Dems defending Feinstein are trash shame on you all you only care about yourselves you don’t for once consider that those fighting for the Green New Deal are actually trying to save our planet since we are fucking running out of time. I also noticed that some of the trolls

We have NO excuse to not act. None. Extreme weather is here.

They said that we need to take drastic action within 12 years, that is what the world’s top climate scientists say. This is not a joke.

*facepalm*
The senator pushed back against the criticism in a statement released Friday evening, writing that though she “had a spirited discussion” with the kids, she heard them “loud and clear.”
I want the children from the Sunrise Movement to know they were heard loud and clear. I have been and remain committed to doing everything I can to enact real, meaningful climate change legislation. pic.twitter.com/JLoIMDf26u

Those Americans who are tired of little children being used as political pawns are hopeful that maybe, just maybe, the kids who hassled Feinstein likewise heard her “reality check” “loud and clear.”
