Rep. Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez got a rare dose of accountability Wednesday in the wake of last week’s fiasco where the democratic socialist celebrated New York City losing 25,000 well-paying jobs after Amazon opted to not open a facility there.
“I think it’s incredible!” the happy socialist told a reporter on Capitol Hill.

The decision by the online retail behemoth was shaped by protests from the radical left, as represented by Ocasio-Cortez, and the conservative advocacy group the Job Creators Network called out the lawmaker in a billboard put up in Times Square on Wednesday.
The organization blamed Ocasio-Cortez for the fall out of Amazon pulling out of an announced deal and will display the billboard for one week.
Located on 42nd Street near 8th Avenue, the billboard reads: “AMAZON PULLOUT, Thanks For Nothing AOC.”

“The pullout of Amazon — because of anti-business politicians, notably Ocasio-Cortez— is a major blow to the New York economy. The retreat will not only cost the area $12 billion in economic activity, but 25,000 new jobs that would have paid an average salary of $150,000,” The Job Creators Network said in a statement.
JCN President and CEO Alfredo Ortiz was clear that this is the difference between socialism and capitalism.
“The Amazon pullout is a perfect example of what we’ve been saying: socialism takes and capitalism creates,” Ortiz said. “The economic consequences of Amazon’s pullout is just a small taste of the harm that is to come if Ocasio-Cortez’s anti-business canon comes to fruition and is made federal policy.”
The campaign also features the hashtag, #SocialismTakesCapitalismCreates.
The Amazon pullout angered New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo and New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, a fellow progressive left traveler, who went after Ocasio-Cortez in an appearance on NBC’s “Meet the Press” for her colossal blunder over a proposed $3 billion tax break for Amazon, noting that this was not money in hand.

“This was a deal that was gonna bring $27 billion in revenue to the state and city for things like public education, mass transit, affordable housing and that $3 billion that would go back in tax incentives was only after we were getting the jobs and getting the revenue,” de Blasio told anchor Chuck Todd.
Proving she had no idea how tax breaks work, Ocasio-Cortez boasted that money that doesn’t exist can be used for other things instead of being given to Amazon.
“If we were willing to give away $3 billion for this deal, we could invest those $3 billion in our district ourselves, if we wanted to,” Ocasio-Cortez said. “We could hire out more teachers. We can fix our subways. We can put a lot of people to work for that money if we wanted to.”
The Job Creators Network took its campaign of accountability to Twitter, as well.
“Every New Yorker — and tourist — will now know that @AOC is to blame for @Amazon pulling the plug on its planned headquarters in Queens! #socialism takes, #capitalism creates,” the group tweeted, linking to a Fox Business article.

They should also add @BernieSanders and the #NewSocialistDNC to that ad

She screwed over her own district. Sadly, they’re probably not bright enough to know what she did to them.
