‘Demoralizing’: CNN staff, libs traumatized when network hires this Republican political editor

CNN is feeling the heat from the left over the hiring of former Republican operative Sarah Isgur Flores as its Washington bureau political editor.

Apparently, CNN can only showcase Republicans who are rabid Trump-haters — sellouts like Ana Navarro and Rick Wilson.

Flores served as spokeswoman to former Attorney General Jeff Sessions and has also worked for Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, Sen. Mitt Romney, R-Utah, and Carly Fiorina, the former CEO of Hewlett-Packard who ran for president in the 2016 GOP primary.

The Daily Beast reported how the hiring “demoralized” employees at the network.

“It’s extremely demoralizing for everyone here,” an anonymous editorial staffer was quoted.

“People are generally confused,” another editorial employee reportedly said, adding that the decision to hire a partisan operative was “very bizarre.”

And that was tame compared to an Esquire headline, which characterized the hiring as “chickensh*t catering to Republicans.”

“They hired a right-wing hack to run their 2020 coverage,” read the caption of a tweet from Esquire’s Twitter account.

Even Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., got in on the act — and people want to dispute that CNN is biased to the left?

“Sorry, didn’t get the latest memo after 1,000 experienced + qualified journalists of all stripes were let go w/o warning a few weeks ago and still looking for work: are we still pretending that hires like these are evidence of a meritocracy?” she tweeted.

That the democratic socialist was responded to an article from the radical left Media Matters only fitting.

Media Matters’ Parker Malloy chimed in to suggest the people who run the network “are conservatives,” before adding that Flores “pledged loyalty to Trump.”

We can only assume that she’s serious in her assertion that conservatives run CNN, which says all you need to know about Media Matters.

On and on the criticism went.

Not that Flores was hesitant to criticize Trump when she was with Fiorina’s campaign, as seen in a Oct. 2016 tweet referencing threats to lock up Hillary Clinton.

CNN hired former Ohio Gov. John Kasich last month and there was nowhere near the same blowback. What criticism there was centered around the likelihood that Kasich will challenge Trump in the GOP primary.

Being a fierce critic of President Trump certainly didn’t hurt his cause.
