President Donald Trump responded to the remarkable “60 Minutes” interview of former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, ripping the fired bureau official who openly acknowledged that top-level officials at the Justice Department discussed the possibility of removing the president.
A discussion Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., called an “attempted bureaucratic coup,” or a “silent coup,” as characterized by talk radio host Rush Limbaugh.
President Trump’s removal was reportedly raised by Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who’s still in office, although it was reported late Monday he’s expected to leave office next month, after the president fired disgraced former FBI Director James Comey.
Taking to Twitter late Monday, Trump linked McCabe directly to Comey.

“Leakin’ James Comey” being a reference to the former bureau head admitting that he leaked noted from his private conversations with Trump to the media.
Using the word “treason,” Trump quoted Fox News’ Sean Hannity in another tweet to suggest that the actions of McCabe and Rosenstein were indeed a coup attempt.
“The biggest abuse of power and corruption scandal in our history, and it’s much worse than we thought. Andrew McCabe (FBI) admitted to plotting a coup (government overthrow) when he was serving in the FBI, before he was fired for lying & leaking.” @seanhannity @FoxNews Treason!

It’s understandable if Trump is unhappy with McCabe, who was fired in the spring of 2017 for “lacking candor under oath” — see lying — in misleading investigators about authorizing a conversation between FBI employees and the media
Dismissing earlier claims that the suggestion was a joke, McCabe told “60 Minutes” that Rosenstein was “absolutely serious” about wearing a wire to secretly record the president in the Oval Office.
He recounted what Rosenstein said: “I never get searched when I go into the White House. I could easily wear a recording device. They wouldn’t know it was there.”
“Now, he was not joking,” McCabe added. “He was absolutely serious. And in fact, he brought it up in the next meeting we had.”

He also said Rosenstein “raised the issue” of invoking the 25th Amendment, which allows Cabinet members to seek the removal of a president if they conclude that he is mentally unfit, to ponder if there was enough support to make it happen.
Early Monday morning, Trump described the actions of DOJ officials discussing the removal of a duly elected president an “illegal act.”
He also took a jab at former Attorney General Jeff Sessions — who was again missing in action while these stunning events take place.

The president also called the actions “treasonous,” as he reminded the nation of the text exchange between fired FBI agent Peter Strzok and Lisa Page, the bureau lawyer he was having an extramarital affair with, about an “insurance policy” if Trump was elected.
….There is a lot of explaining to do to the millions of people who had just elected a president who they really like and who has done a great job for them with the Military, Vets, Economy and so much more. This was the illegal and treasonous “insurance policy” in full action!

It is only because of a complicit media that this story has not rocked this nation to its very core. Had similar actions been taken against Trump’s predecessor, Barack Obama, the same media would be foaming at the mouth.
As for the explanation the president tweeted about, Graham, chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, said on “CBS News Sunday” that he’ll launch a probe into the actions of top DOJ officials, which he said were “beyond stunning.”
He also said he would subpoena Comey and Rosenstein if necessary to find out what they know about the alleged plot.
“I think everybody in the country needs to know if it happened,” Graham explained.
