Trump irks Pelosi with stinging question: Why is she getting paid when people who are working are not?

With the news cycle back on special counsel Robert Mueller and the liberal media whipping themselves into a lather with the political narrative that President Donald Trump is a danger to national security, the president goes on about the business of making America great again.

And with the government partially shut down because the Democratic Party refuses to yield in the name of border security, no matter how many American citizens die at the hands of illegal immigrants who have no business being in the country, Trump took to Twitter to ask why House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif. is still getting paid.

Trump tweeted: “Why is Nancy Pelosi getting paid when people who are working are not?”

The remark about people working being a reference to federal employees. In all, the shutdown has left hundreds of thousands of government workers without pay.

For what it’s worth, since taking office, Trump has donated his quarterly salaries to government departments like Veterans Affairs, Transportation, Health and Human Services, National Park Service and the Education department.

Pelosi responded to the tweet to prove she’s not about to provide these workers any relief, telling Trump to “stop holding the paychecks of 800,000 Americans hostage. There is no reason for them to be suffering right now. Re-open the government!”

Keep in mind, Pelosi has led the charge in refusing to give Trump the $5 billion he requested for a wall to help secure the porous southern border, calling a border wall “an immorality between countries.”

(Not to mention between potential Democratic voters.)

The San Francisco Democrat who now controls U.S. purse strings joked with media allies earlier this month she’d give the president “one dollar” for the project, before flatly rejecting any possibility of strengthening border security.

“We’re not doing a wall. Does anybody have any doubt about that? We are not doing a wall. So that’s that,” she declared.

Democrats have since embarked on a campaign to convince the American people that there is no crisis on the southern border.

Never mind that there are anywhere from 12-20 million illegal immigrants residing in the country, with the government having few clues as to who they are.

And that Americans are killed by the hundreds every year by criminals who should not be in the US. Criminals who have been deported multiple times. And this doesn’t take into account the economic impact of illegal immigration, be it driving down the wages of low-income Americans or costing taxpayers tens of billions of dollars to provide for their well-being.

But no crisis — nothing to see here folks, just move along.

Pelosi continues to work toward passing a spending package to fund the government, leaving out Trump’s $5 billion request, which is a drop in the bucket given the size of the federal budget, knowing full well that the president would not sign it even if it did pass in the GOP-controlled Senate.

And the media continues to give her props for these show votes.

Meanwhile, the longest government shutdown in US history continues and federal employees feel more of a pinch. Likely part of Pelosi’s plan, as she tries to wait out the president and hope public sentiment turns against him.
