Over 20 companies have bowed to pressure from the far-left and pulled their advertising from Fox News’ “Tucker Carlson Tonight.” The latest company to pull its advertising was Red Lobster.
In response, an army of free speech advocates fed-up with what they describe as the left’s “corporate censorship boycotts” have declared that it’s time to start fighting fire with fire, starting with Red Lobster, the latest chain to throw Fox News under the bus.
Look:
Boycotts go both ways @redlobster I go to your Pearland location a lot. I won’t be going there anymore. I live near the Gulf. Plenty of non-virtue-signaling places I can go to get lobster. Bye Felicia. https://t.co/q8Ud0C4FOS

The advertiser pullout began early last month when host Tucker Carlson made alleged “offensive” remarks about illegal immigrants and the indisputable problems they inevitably wreak.
Following the remarks, far-left activists began claiming that Carlson’s factually backed claim that the mass importation of illegal immigrants would make America “dirtier” was a racist statement.
The activists then began pressuring the host’s advertisers to pull their advertising from the program or face their combined wrath. According to the Huffington Post, as of Saturday, 21 advertisers had ceded to the left’s demands:
- Pacific Life
- Bowflex
- Indeed
- Minted
- NerdWallet
- SmileDirectClub
- Voya Financial
- Ancestry.com
- Land Rover
- Zenni Optical
- IHOP
- Just for Men
- United Explorer credit card
- ScotteVest
- TD Ameritrade
- CareerBuilder
- SodaStream
- Robitussin
- Takeda Pharmaceutical Company
- Norwegian Cruise Line
- Red Lobster
Why all the outrage against these advertisers? Because of the immense double standards, for one. As noted by several Twitter users, companies such as these never boycott liberals.
When panelists on a CNN show accused black rapper Kanye West of being a “token Negro” last October, the show’s advertisers said and did nothing.
When a guest on an MSNBC show said two months ago that white people will always “vote with their whiteness,” the show’s advertisers said and did nothing.
When a still-employed MSNBC show host was discovered two years ago to have once written homophobic blog posts, the show’s advertisers said and did nothing
And when The New York Times ran an appallingly racist piece last summer that suggested the predominantly white state of New Hampshire needs to change because it’s “nearly all white,” the paper’s advertisers and did nothing.
It’s as if only a certain type of racism — namely the non-existent type that conservatives are regularly accused of perpetrating, despite conflicting evidence — is worthy of boycotts and condemnation.
The double standards and hypocrisy are so unreal that some free-speech advocates are at the point where they’re ready to sacrifice some of their beliefs to teach the left a much-needed lesson.
Mind you, the lesson isn’t for Red Lobster and its boycotting allies to support certain individuals or ideologies over others. No. It’s for these companies to stay the hell out of politics altogether.
Look:
I stopped going to Red Lobster years ago because of poor quality. But, if I still went I would stop. Run your business and keep your politics out of it. How many businesses have to learn this lesson before they quit alienating 1/2 their customers. @redlobster

@redlobster I don’t even watch @TuckerCarlson but I certainly won’t be spending a penny on a restaurant who gets in bed with dishonest Social Justice Warriors. As if Target & Dicks weren’t a good enough financial lesson already …

When will @redlobster LEARN that Caving to Left-Wing Campaign will ONLY HURT THEIR PROFIT LINE!!!#RedLobster Pulls Ads from Tucker Carlson – They’ll learn their lesson!
Will they learn their lesson before it’s too late is the question!https://t.co/CEsEoJmKSy via @BreitbartNews— Patriot?Covfefé ?❤️??✝️??❤️? #JesusIsLord! (@Trump4Patriots) January 9, 2019
Hey @redlobster you just lost a customer. I guess you didn’t learn a valuable lesson from the support that @ChickfilA gets from conservatives. #EpicFail
— David Rosenthal (@TheOSHAGuy) January 11, 2019
Well I guess they learned no lesson from Macy’s, Starbucks, Target etc! All have lost becuz of rich CEO ideology!
— DeplorableDonna??❌⭐️⭐️⭐️ (@don47) January 11, 2019
Their choice lost them a family of 10 that dines out as a group often.. Businesses should stay our of politics. You’d think they would learn that lesson from Dicks and the The Red Hen… guess not.
— eastcoastal (@DBTillman) January 11, 2019
Or, if they’re going to remain involved in politics (bad idea), they could at least have the courtesy to be consistent. But considering that all these companies lean to the left, they, of course, know absolutely nothing about consistency. Big surprise …
