It doesn’t take much reading between the lines to gauge where many in the media stand on issues, as seen when CNN’s lead political anchor Wolf Blitzer tweeted his concern for federal employees during the ongoing government shut down.
“Remember – it’s not just 800,000 federal employees who have been furloughed or are working without pay during this partial government shutdown, it’s also their family members who have been directly impacted,” Blitzer tweeted on Saturday.

Of course, the $5 billion President Trump is asking for is but a drop in the bucket when you consider the scope of the federal budget, yet Democrats have chosen to play the role of omnipotent moral authorities placing a political agenda ahead of border security.
But Blitzer’s selective outrage doesn’t take that into consideration.
Or, perhaps it’s just virtue-signaling on his part. Either way, Fox News Laura Ingraham saw fit to weigh in and expand the CNN anchor’s horizons a bit.
“Fair point. But where is concern re. MILLIONS of private sector workers who lost jobs when production moved overseas (bad trade deals) or pushed out of entire industries (construction, hospitality) bc of open borders?” she tweeted.

Never mind that many of these federal employees are guaranteed back pay once the government reopens, Ingraham dares to take into consideration the real impact of our porous borders.
With Democrats continuing to put pandering to Hispanic voters over the best interests of the country, even as illegal immigrants by the hundreds have taken to storming our southern border in a mad dash to force their way into the U.S., Blitzer and his media colleagues never consider the other side when it comes to an issue that has been a problem for many years.
The same cabal that reports breathlessly on the rare death of an illegal alien child, yet all but refuses to report on so many Americans being killed by illegal immigrants.
But then, this is why so many ill-informed Democrats support illegal immigration and conflate those who enter illegally with legal immigrants.
And while Twitter has long since devolved into a toxic wasteland, the responses to Ingraham’s tweet is proof that you can still find reasoned, informed opinions online.
Here’s a sampling of the responses from Twitter:
Those that worked should receive back pay, the rest should remain on furlough and seek employment elsewhere. We don’t need them!!

It’s simple @wolfblitzer only one thing needed and @TheDemocrats refuse to do it, Fund Border Security 5.6 billion a drop in the bucket compared to what is give as foreign aid to other countries. #AmericaFirst #SchumerPelosiShutdown

Bingo Laura! Who cried when I lost my job in the mid 1980s and had to retrain bc I was only 30. I really have no sympathy for the government “worker” who are furloughed. In the whole big scheme of things, they have gotten the better deal than the private sector.

The government workers get to experience now what the private sector workers face all the time. We are sad they are facing it but they should always remember no job is so secure you don’t have worry about it not being there someday.
— Tom French (@pappawtjf) January 6, 2019
Yes maybe all these government workers should move over to the private sector and then feel how entitled they feel now. They will all get retro pay when a deal is struck. Bills? Name me a govt worker who doesn’t have a credit card. Whiners with or w/o borders
— George Buffet (@buffet_george) January 5, 2019
Excellent Analysis, Laura!!?? When these workers you refer to were losing jobs and others leaving college unable to find work in the STEM area due to H-1B visas, little to no words of concern/sympathy were ever expressed from MSM folks like Blitzer.

Again, plenty of private sector jobs are open and begging for labor

You are spot on….tell Wolf and liberal Media to get the other
Demos to stop being political and do the right thing with the
