‘5 eyes. 5 arms. 4 legs. All American’: GOP Fla. Rep welcomes fellow wounded veterans to Congress with amazing photo

Rep. Brian Mast, R-Fla., an Army veteran, welcomed two fellow wounded veterans, Rep. Jim Baird, from Indiana, and Rep. Dan Crenshaw, from Texas, to Congress by tweeting a remarkable photo with his Republican colleagues.

An image that illustrates the tremendous sacrifice so many veterans have made for this great country.

“5 eyes. 5 arms. 4 legs. All American. Welcome to Congress, @ElectJimBaird & @DanCrenshawTX,” Mast tweeted, as the three men stood in the well of the House.

Stars and Stripes broke down the math by explaining that Mast lost both legs in 2010 while clearing improvised explosive devices in Afghanistan, while Baird lost an arm in Vietnam and Crenshaw lost an eye as a Navy SEAL serving in Afghanistan.

Mast, who is beginning his second term in Congress, has something else in common with Baird and Crenshaw, according to Stars and Stripes: all three congressmen have earned Bronze Stars and Purple Hearts.

True American heroes, all three.

Crenshaw was in the news recently when liberal soy boy Pete Davidson mocked the veteran for losing an eye while serving in Afghanistan, comparing him to “a hitman in a porno movie” in pathetic Saturday Night Live skit.

“I’m sorry, I know he lost his eye in war or whatever,” Davidson said after the smear.

Crenshaw responded by making a surprise appearance on SNL, proving that not only does he have a sense of humor, but that you can be funny and still have a little class — Davidson apologized to Crenshaw on air.

Mast’s photo was enough to make hearts from both sides of the aisle swell with both pride and respect, as seen in the reactions online.
