Failed Democrat presidential nominee Hillary Rodham Clinton celebrated America’s passage into an exciting new year by complaining about the president and paying tribute to the trifling past.
Her trifling past, to be exact. She posted a lengthy screed to Instagram and attached a photo to it from Nov. 5 1996, the day that her husband, then-President Bill Clinton, won reelection.

It’s unclear why she posted this photo or what relevance it bore to her screed.
“In many ways, 2018 was a dark time for our country,” she wrote, echoing the oft-heard but a factually incorrect liberal narrative of a country suffering grievously under President Donald Trump.
Factually speaking, America experienced a great year in 2018. Unemployment hit record lows, household net worth soared and the country prospered in ways not seen in decades.
Clinton continued by thanking the left-wing activists — including journalists — who “mobilized voters for the 2018 elections” and helped Democrats retake the House.
“Here’s to more light in 2019, and to a shared commitment to make it as bright as possible. Happy New Year,” she concluded without explaining why she’d attached a picture from 1996.
Her choice in photos was as odd as the one she made on Christmas last week. At the time she shared a photo of her, her husband and her daughter from Dec. 18, 1995.
For a woman who purports to be looking toward the feature, the failed presidential nominee and former secretary of state seems oddly obsessed with the past.

She pulled the same stunt on Thanksgiving when she shared a decades-old photo of her family. While it’s unclear when the photo was taken, her now-38-year-old daughter looks awfully young in it.

Again, it’s unclear why she views 2018 with such a negative light. It was also the year that the #MeToo movement blossomed into an international force, for better and worse. Perhaps that’s the real reason she apparently disliked the year so much — because the movement came after her husband?
During her husband’s presidency decades earlier, he was accused of sexual harassment and rape. He was also busted for having an extramarital affair with a young, impressionable intern.
While the left vociferously defended Bill at the time, their tone changed drastically after the #MeToo movement sprung into existence in late 2017.
“I think that as a nation, we were in a different time. I think that women were continually being silenced. And I think we gave him the benefit of the doubt and we probably should’ve investigated the allegations against him as well,” actress Alyssa Milano said last year of Clinton.
When questioned about the affair in particular during an NBC interview last summer, the former president refused to apologize and grew irate.
“Do you feel that you owe her an apology?” Melvin asked.
“No. I, I do not, I have never talked to her,” Clinton responded when asked by interviewer Craig Melvin whether he owed his victim, former White House intern Monica Lewinsky, an apology.
“This was litigated 20 years ago,” he added. “Two-thirds of the American people sided with me. They were sensitive that I had a sexual harassment policy when I was governor in the ’80s. I had two women chief of staff when I was governor. Women were over-represented in the attorney general’s office in the ’70s.”
He also accused Melvin of “giving one side and omitting facts.”

Clinton herself has likewise never apologized for her sinister actions, which included reportedly trying to silence her husband’s many accusers, including Juanita Broaddrick.

Thanks to the #MeToo movement, the media began running stories last year critical of Clinton for the role she played in her husband’s abuses.
“Hillary Clinton Proves She Still Hasn’t Learned the Lessons of #MeToo,” reads one scathing headline from the usually Clinton-friendly Vanity Fair magazine.
It’s no wonder she disliked 2018 so much.
